well, i just wanted to add to your support linda, i think its a real shame people are being like this. I have never had to ask you a question, but i have seen so many threads where someone will say, "linda is who we need" and sure enough you come and answer the questions, it is quite simply, you have helped loads of people and everyone knows you are a dressmaker, so im guessing these people have either stumbled on your responses and got it all wrong - or maybe they have seen how much everybody needs you, have buisnesses them selves and are jealous at the amount of respect you have earned on this bored. It would be a real shame if you left, please dont. x

Dress threads may not be very relevant to me, so generally I don't join in those, but spamming, or promoting your own business is really obvious - we should know there are enough spammers who pass through here (and all the other forums), and I've never seen you spamming etc.

Sadly some forums (even those that seem fairly reasonable) can have some weird moderators, rules, or ways of dealing with "issues", you just have to put it behind you, ignore the trolls and stick to chatting weddings with all the like minded genuine members!

What a load of crap!!

What is the difference between Linda posting and giving wedding/dress etc advice, and a mortgage advisor posting to give their help on the house buying board??

Linda is a really good asset to this board, and will always offer help to the ladies (and gentlemen!) on this board.

She doesn't seek to gain anything, but of course as time has gone on, Linda has done work for people on this board, so of course they are going to recommend her!

Has Becks' thread been pulled?

Now that was a suprise because I didn't even know Linda was making her dress and I'm on here every day, so how could Linda have been touting or spamming her business on here without m and others noticing??

What's annoying me about this Linda is that you are very rarely the one mentioning the fact that you own a dress making business, it's everyone else who is recommending you! You've never been anything but helpful when people are worrying about their dresses, you could just wade in and say 'Come to me and I'll make you a dress for £x' but you don't, you will always give the bride the advice that she personally needs.

I assume a lot of the aggro from the PMer has come from the comp posted by Franny and the glowing thread started by Becky. Since these threads have been started by other people of their own accord, how can you be touting for business??? It makes me so mad! Like Shellsuit said, how is having a dressmaker give a professional opinion on a wedding board different to a mortgage advisor giving advice on the housing board? Indeed, any of us posting about sales/bargain buys etc could be told off for touting for business for those particular shops, it's madness! Where does it end?

I hope you know how valued you are Linda and you'll be around here giving advice and support for a long longer than the people causing the trouble!

Another vote of support for you here Linda. I have seen nothing but helpful comments from you. Never advertising your services but merely giving help and advice.
I think whoever PMd you must be a jealous rival, I would ignore it and move on.
Please don't leave, I might be needing your help when I finally get around to getting married.
