I've just checked my online banking and seem to have a £62.50 for these people. Never heard of them or given my details out to anyone so beats me where this has come from (I assume Capital Finance are the same as Capital Finance One?)

Capital One are phoning up 3 times a day on average at present (3 times today, Sunday, since 10:30am, last call a couple of minutes ago) regarding me going over my limt by £24.
  • D'oh still beats me, why anyone would want to mislead...
deserve my old nickname of gullible Raquel ! though it is something I'm trying to lose!

Well there is quite a difference between the credit card company and payday loan company... in case poster really didn't know that or hasn't worked it out:rotfl:

Will, What does your bank say? Have your tried chargeback through them?
Do you know for sure it is this company?

Just checked my online banking and 2 payments came out for Capital One Finance at the same time, 2nd April. One for £62.40 and another for £160.

Well, then you know what to do? if there not recognised transactions
Also might be worth trying the CAB as they can assist (I think) and do the correspondence for you which could help

    Hope you'll get sorted
  • This company is a complete and utter joke and must have nothing but monkeys in seats employed there.

I have had a loan with them....with huge regret....as I was in a bad situation at the time. After setting up a repayment plan with them and them taking this money as the agreed as part of this repayment plan this obviusly wasn't enough so they decided to help themselves to another £85 from my account. I called them up to ask what was going on after a heated discussion a very rude bloke told me there nothing he can do apart from remove my card from the system. The following month I receive another text saying I can either pay the balance in full or pay the interest??? I called them up to ask why I had received this text to be told they still have my card details I wasn't told they would be removed so I must be lying and I would have to send them an email with A PHOTOGRAH OF MY BANK CARD??!!! to get it removed. After doing so and waiting 7 hours with no response I decied to give them another call and spoke to a rude lady this time who told me I'd missunderstood the advisor??? because they can not remove my card details due to data protection??? So rather than guesing whether they will take the money I've had to mess about cancelling cards with my bank!!!

If anybody is even considering taking a loan from these people don't even bother they are an absolute JOKE and a bunch of CROOKS!!!

So where IS a good place to borrow from if we don't intend making the repayments?

I'm bewildered by your understanding a lender who is not receiving the correct repayments, would agree to deleting all methods of accessing your account.
  • I recently took out a loan for £200. On the date the payment was due, CFO took their £78 interest (Yeah I know!) and TWO payments of £200. Obviously I was straight on the phone. It took five days to finally get the extra £200 back into my account.

I really should've learned my lesson by then, but I stupidly agreed to get out another loan. This time the amount was £300.

I was struggling financially, so I asked a relative for some help. They agreed to help bail me out of my payday loan spiral (I'm paying them back).

I rang CFO and told them that my relative would be making the payment (Early). She was asked by the advisor to provide a fax or email with a photo of the card (For "Fraud prevention" purposes), which she sensibly decline to do. She was then advised to make the payment via a bank transfer. She agreed to do this believing that there should be a sufficient paper trail should anything be out of the ordinary. This happened two days ago. The money has yet to appear in my CFO account. I'm hoping this is just down to bank clearance issues.

If nothing happens by Tuesday, I shall immediately be getting my card blocked to prevent them taking any further money from me. In fact, I may even do that anyway, just in case.

Cowboy firm more than anything IMO.

Why didn't your friend just give you the money so you could pay it instead of dragging her into this mess?
