  • Just to update. I rang the fsa who themselves emailed capital finance one with my complaint, they are given 8 weeks to respond and if in that time they do not, I am then able to escalate the claim. On researching further, it seems that this company has operated under other names previously and has been folded for fraudulent activity!! Very scary!!

I have now sent in total 13 emails to cfo requesting contact and refund and they have not responded to any. I finally got through on the phone this morning and the girl on the phone asked for my debit card number. When I asked if it was to process a refund she would not confirm that and just said she would get back to me. Guess what? She hasnt!! I am changing my bank to a completely new bank altogether as they seem to infiltrate whatever security is in place and I cannot afford to lose anymore.

    What do I do now?

What have your bank advised as to me, this is fraud and the bank should arrange chargebacks on the debit transactions. I'd also report this to the Police.

It seems bizarre that CFO continue to debit you despite the fact that you do not owe them anything.
  • My bank have told me that I can open a dispute and claim back which I am doing but as I have previously been a client of cfo it is up to me to prove that the transaction is unauthorised which obviously I am able to do.

The lady I spoke to today told me that occasionally companies will attempt to obtain funds on a rolling basis and yes it is most defianitely fraud and theft. They have checked back with me my statements for the past two years and any money that was owed to cfo was cleared in full when it was due.
The only possible explanation that the girl at cfo had was that my details had been somehow linked to someone elses account???? (I dont know)
I will be contacting the police also now as I have researched on other forums too and it appears that customers of cfo have had similar experiences and have also had monies obtained from their accounts by companies trading under different aliases yet when traced back are linked to cfo. Again, fraud and theft!! These people Did not owe money to cfo either just had had dealings with them at one time or another.

this email was followed by another couple of smaller exchanges of emails, and the money was in my account by 3pm!!!! So my message to people here is, if uve been ripped off, dont do what a couple of these people say above this, such as (lesson learnt, move on blah blahhhh) send them emails that threaten them with the relevant authoritys!! Dont be rude, n dont swear! but make it plain that you will NOT let it drop. I think the mention of the police did it here to b honest! because if they do take money from your account without your consent, then it is THEFT! and THEFT is an offence is it not????
But I would like to thank capital finance one, for succumbing to the threats, responding and refunding all within about 5 hours!!!

    DONT BACK DOWN!!!!

    The Oricle

  • Hello everyone, in December I stupidly took out a pay day loan to cover my travel as xmas presents took over the wages... I only applied for £120, now... they have taken £90 from my account and still have an outstanding balance of £179 with them, they have put me over drawn and now owe bank charges, I have contacted them via email and have only today got a response, saying it is not there problem. well I tell you now it will be there problem. They have now taken my money so cannot get to work for the rest of this month and still are taking, what else can I do?

When were you supposed to repay?
How much were you supposed to repay?
    Did you repay anything?
  • Hi

I would advise you to open a new account with a new bank and change you bank details with your work straight away as they will keep taking money from your account until it is paid in full with all there intrest.
Also just cancelling your card will not stop them taking payment as the bank will allow a payment from a new card.

I know this as i have been in this postion

    Just a heads up

Disgraceful company. Should be closed down.
What kind of scum company would expect their money back along with the agreed interest?

I never said dont pay it back, I advised the poster to get a new bank account so that they could get there wages paid into it with out them taking all there wages out.

It is wrong that the poster would have no money left for food bills and travel to work. if the poster has emailed or spoken to them to arrange a payment plan then surely the company in question should honor there word and not take random amounts of money out of peoples accounts.

I know what this company is like as i had a loan with them and i had a payment plan with them they did not honor it and cleared my account so i know how this outfit work.

If the poster has got any emails from the company confirming acceptance of the offer of repayment keep these incase you have any more problems
