I used CFO for a loan back December, and my repayment was due for the end of Jan. Due to illness and a change in personal circumstances I was unable to pay the debt so I called and after several emails and calls an agreement was set up for me to pay £35 a month. They took the 1st £35 yesterday then today I checked my bank and they have taken 6 card payments for different amounts, totalling £450 - the original loan inc interest was £347. My bank said that unless I can prove that I didn't owe then that anount they can't do anything , yet I have an agreement and it actually says " I can assure you no other money other than the £35.00 a month will be debited from your account".

I have tried constantly to ring them but all the numbers I have just ring out - the switchboard number now says there is no one to take youe call and hangs up. I have emailed the general email plus the persons direct email that made the agreement and confirmed it yet still no one has got back to me.

IS there anything I can do, I'm open to suggestions.

For a start you can STOP trying to waste everyones time by ringing them. Nothing good will ever come from a phone call apart from lining their pockets further on their premium rate phone number.

WRITE to them and send the letter by recorded delivery
You will have a right to cancel this Agreement for 14 days, beginning with the day after this Agreement is signed by Us. You may exercise this right by giving us notice in writing by sending:
    1. a letter to Us at Capital Finance One Limited at Copper House, 88 Snakes Lane East, Woodford Green, Essex, IG8 7HX

Outline your complaint keeping it factual, never start ranting or making threats, keep to facts only, polite even.
  • Hi Oracle, my husband got a loan from this robbing company but they have taken double the amount owing to them! My bank cant recall the extra money they have taken as once debit card details have been taken they are within rights to continue using it without authorisation this is because they process the payment without an expiry date. These scum of the earth have found a loophole and are taking full advantage. Same as everyone else they cut off calls refuse to refund, blame the bank i today reported them to consumer direct who have passed on their details to trading standards i have also contacted the fsa who are going to contact them but we have to wait 8 weeks before we can take it further. I am considering takngi them to the small claims court if not resolved by then. I would be very grateful for details of your police contact and any advice you have to offer thanks.

It's related to you eagerly distributing all your personal details including bank account access to anyone and everyone so you can have a night out and do a bit of online shopping.

It could be any one of the websites you were so keen to give all your details to.

CCBILL are commonly used for Adult Website access so maybe you signed up for Heavenly Soapy Dinner Ladies or similar.

Who really knows? I doubt you do after reading your two posts, you seem blissfully eager to fill out website forms without considering any kind of consequence.
I feel you will be losing a whole lot more money in the future.
  • Someone got hold of my brothers bank details and spent £80 through my brothers bank a while ago. He went straight to ccbill saying it was fraud and they stopped the payment.
It was an absolute nightmare though as you have an account registered so you have no way of actually checking the transaction unless you have the emails details etc although if I remember rightly he could get round it with his address and card details which obviously couldnt be changed.

CCBILL couldnt of been more helpfull though so I hope whoever enjoyed watching !!!!!! at 4am at his expense for 7 days before it got back in his bank

I've just checked my online banking and seem to have a £62.50 for these people. Never heard of them or given my details out to anyone so beats me where this has come from (I assume Capital Finance are the same as Capital Finance One?)
  • Added: Looks like another £62.40 is on it's way out at present. Going to get the bank to investigate this as it's now the 2nd and 20th Dec for the same amount.

Ok, up to 4 x £62.40 now and another £222.06 is on it's way out which has caused at least 1 Direct debit to be returned.
    Had zero contact from them.
  • Will, What does your bank say? Have your tried chargeback through them?
Do you know for sure it is this company?
