Well baby steps it certainly is....and very very tiny ones at that :o

Actually I have been dealing with "flooding" stuff this whole week and am exhausted..yet another meeting today and didn;t get back home til 9pm...but have now done all the research necessary and am very clear in my mind as to the next course of action :T

I have made some positive decisions re the flood blight stuff but won;t post yet as I need to notify certain people first. Bottom line is that the previous "vehicles" that were meant to help us re our houses/insurance just "aint interested"....so now I am going to ramp it up in other directions :j

I have five aims for this month...
    a) get effing builders to (for pity's sake PLEASE) finish the bathroom job by next week
    b) get my tax return done by next week
    c) find a RELIABLE plumber and get my downstairs loo fixed by end of this month ( nice plumbers merchants actually obtained the parts for me FOC this week )
    d) sort out my dietary intake properly together with necessary meds/vits......ummmmmm..by end of this month?:o
    e) prepare my flooding case for my MP sugery appointment (within two weeks) :D

Pootles off to do a bit of ironing as no way will I sleep tonight as we are on flood alert...[STRIKE].eek[/STRIKE]...yawn...

Hopefuly Wol will become a bit more interactive soon....sorry for ignoring you all :o.....just haven;t been able to face posting each kick in the guts as it happens.

I want to be able to post good and positive stuff and am so fed up with the incessant problems spawning even more (new) problems that I have to fight hard about to get any type of resolution....and then me beating myself up as though it;s my fault the problems occurred in the first place ..My psychotherpist is trying very hard to convince me that...actually....I;ve had a rather shirtty time of it, have had no let-up since the flood and that actally most of my problems are due to the incompetence of others.....but I still think it;s all my fault....(Wol applies mallet to head and whips to back yet again :o)

So thanks all of you - I really appreciate you all for sticking with me :T:A

    Hi Wol

Sorry to hear you have been having a tough week, although having made postive decisions sounds like a step in the right direction. :grouphug:

    a) is this the brother builders? can you threaten them with Auntie Smashed's excessive attentions if they don't get it sorted within a week?;)
    b) :naughty: have you got all the paperwork ready? can you allocate a couple of hours when you will do nothing and have no distractions from the bleeding thing? sooner its done sooner you can forget about it for another [STRIKE]year[/STRIKE] 10months.

Good luck with the others on your list as well.

Right I'm confiscating your head bashing mallet and you cannot have it back until you can guarantee you will only be using on others and not yourself. Those self-flagellation whips can be sent up to anyone who can promise only to use them in pursuit of pleasure (any takers? :D)

We will always stick with you Wol and understand when things are bad for you, even when they are so bad that it doesn't feel like the problems shared are problems halved.

As ever do try to look after yourself, these things are so much easier to fight when you have your health and the energy to do it. Hang in there.

    xx

    Doesn't matter. Direction is all.

Talk to your insurers. As them what the delay is. They will then ask the builders what the delay is. The builders will then turn up and claim: "What delay?"

And get your 2010-2011 tax return in just after the end of the financial year so you're not putting yourself under such pressure.

No. Take care of yourself. Sooner.

Surely the ground will be too loose to have much surface water flowing? We have snow right now.

Post when you have news, not when the good news balances the bad using a 31 day binomial smoothing regression. It will even out over time.

No, none of that stuff. It is not helpful.

Unfortunately it isn;t....which is why there is now a problem. The insurance company;s assessors allocated a paltry £590 for the whole job (of which I had to pay £320 as the excess ). Even without getting Big Bro Builders in to quote, I knew the job would cost at least £1100 .........(well I have had rather a lot of experience over the last three years of going through builders accounts with a fine toothcomb and getting accurate costs ;))......so having then discussed it with Big bro he was (more than) happy to walk away :D

    b) :naughty: have you got all the paperwork ready? can you allocate a couple of hours when you will do nothing and have no distractions from the bleeding thing? sooner its done sooner you can forget about it for another [STRIKE]year[/STRIKE] 10months.

Errmmm...all the expenses receipts, shares dividends, gift aid stuff etc ect need to be "re-discovered" from the myraid of files/boxes/piles that have accumulated over the last year in the study and thence the whole accounts need to be drawn up and reconciled with the bank statements/purchase orders/receipts....many of which need to be printed out from the PC :D:o (Nihil desperandum.....this is par for the course chez Wol...and I am confident that I am now mentally prepared to apply myself such that I can get accurate ledgers/statements together for the accountant by the end of next week (errrrmm...by that I mean before 8am the following monday morning when they come in to work :rotfl::rotfl:....Wol knows that (as always being "last minute Annie") ...she will be working late nights/early morning for this particular purpose :D;))

Good luck with the others on your list as well.

    Hey Tixi :hello::hello:

Hope you had a fabby Xmas and New Year break...(didn;t get any frozen pipes..didn;t slip on the ice and/or do yourself some damage and also that your vehicular transport is still mightily intact :rotfl::rotfl:)

Most if all I hope Paddington was not too shocked by the sudden vicious changes in temperature here in the UK..... (although I think being from Peru there is a tendancy to these sudden changes) .....and all the white stuff....
(OMG.....NO!!!...I mean snow.:eek:.........OMG DOUBLE NO!! I mean proper frozen water snow..... not the other South American "sniffy" stuff...I know Paddington would never do drugs :D :rotfl:)

Wo goes back to sorting her [STRIKE](compost) worms[/STRIKE] words :)

    I didn't start it. :A

I was only asking a very serious question. After all, the only pleasure I can think of with such things is an indulgence with Mr Whippy...
