Very sorry to hear about the cheeky, wee chappy. I am sure Grommie knows he was well cared for and loved by you. It will take time especially as you went through so much recently.
xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Hope you are getting on with things and feeling a bit better, Wol. Steady on the alcofrolics, now, that will just give you a sore head and make you feel even $h1tter than you do already.....the older you get the more it hurts the morning after (believe me, I know! Now I only have 1 - 2 units alcohol a month, and a lovely healthy liver to show for it!)One life - your life - live it!0

Phew!!
Whole day working today - = ££££ :j:j:j
Well that woz the week that woz ......from hell
-Got Ombudsman's letter confirming rejected complaint
-Friend RIP
-Wrecking new wallpaper in house :mad:
-Parents first visit
-Poor Grommie
-Possible diagnosis - after all the tests/money etc - we're back to it's probably a Piggie virus - so no cure and no more new guineas
-Client from hell
-Beechie (respiratory - tad worried with weekend coming up), Maple, Willow and Ginger (weeing blood - not so urgent) - Spanish vet away and Vulture vet not available til wednesday  so booked in for then.
-And finally - just to cap it all yesetrday afternoon- new solicitor says - unless I provide further evidence to show causation (a direct link bewteen breach and loss - which i will - have tons and I am still hopeful) her opinion is less than 51% chance so the recommendation is no cover from legal insurance policy and I'm on my own ref floors/surveyor. I have a week to provide them with the case evidence (ie do their work for them!! :rotfl:)
Thank goodness this week is now over :beer:
I have treated myself to a bottle of Sancerre tonight while I eat the remains of the trout kedgeree and consider my (slightly decimated if no chance of claiming damages) financial situation
Tomorrow - it's sort out the bedrooms/wash bedlinen from last week; batch cook the courgettes and beans (anther 3kg picked tonight)
And sunday its gardening, laying gorgeous Grommie to rest and cleaning the piggies
Next week - we tackle the hand......!!!!!! - let's hope it responds to the new treatment and surgery is not necessary
I really SO SO want to be able to close off all these issues that have been dogging me (sorry - should that be pigging me? :rotfl:) over the last 24 months....why does it all take so blooming long . And unfortunately some will be remaining open for a while yet.
Still - I'm hoping the weather stays as glorious over the weekend as I really love the colours and light hues this time of year

I heard on Chris Evans Radio 2 Thought for the Day this morning that next week is the Jewish New Year Rosh Hashanah. In view of my recently discovered ancestry i think is a spookily appropriate time to draw a line under everything and start afresh
So Nargle - thank you I really appreciate the sentiments :kisses3: - have become a tad worried about my continued proclivities recently (;)).....and will (finally) be going on the wagon from next week (eeerrmmm that's MONDAY next week!! :rotfl::rotfl:)

Wol so sorry to hear about the week from hell and the loss of poor grommie xxx how awful for you ...it must be so hard when you don't know the cause.0

Hi Wol - sorry you had the week from hell - how did you get on with the old trout? I was saddened to hear about Grommie too - he was a lovely old chap.
Money is now coming in as I have organised my first mind mapping course with more to follow:j I stupidly allowed myself to be bullied last week although thankfully I didnt part with any cash - I was told that I had to pay fees to a Federation (something that was actually my idea:mad:) and when I said that I couldnt afford it I got sarky emails. I am now bristling and am considering deleting and blocking them on facebook, email, twitter and my phone because despite verbal agreements in place they are encroaching onto my patch - I wouldnt mind but they are based on the South Coast:mad:. I am cross because these folks were supposed to be friends but with friends like that who needs enemies hey? I refuse to get mad but I will get even:rotfl:
I received a letter from the council yesterday advising me of the road closures for the pope's visit - my road will be closed for the whole weekend and if I go out, I have to take proof of address with me so that I can get back. I might chuck my tent in the car along with my hiking boots and drive off somewhere and get a bit of walking in (Horace is getting porky).
Disaster struck on Sunday - my kettle packed up (it was 5 years' old) so I was without and didnt really bother with hot drinks other than milky coffee made in the microwave - I was too mean to switch a ring on on the cooker just to boil a pan of water. I ordered a new kettle from Lakeland and put a £3 voucher towards it - it arrived today and its fab (it boils really quick), mugs of proper coffee are now being consumed.
Well, its late and I am off to bed - I have an early start in the morning.0 -
Yeah the pope visit is going to cause chaos here too but on Thursday! Half of Edinburgh's roads between the airport and city centre are being shut! My easiest way to get to work is via the city centre but most of that'll be shut too. I think I'm going to take the day off! It sounds almost impossible for me to get to work and back without being stuck in traffic all day and I still have 3.5 weeks holidays to take before Xmas!Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!
