 Big hugs from me too Wol Sweetheart ....I was so upset to hear your news I have tears here too....you had many good years together & those are the memories that count....give the other piggies a big hug.

Gosh ....we get so attached to our pets don`t we?...but we would`nt have it any other way.

Take care....maybe take time for a nice walk in the sunshine if those weepy feelings get too intense.

  • Oh Wol, i am so sorry. emergency vets can in my experience be hit or miss. I have stood like that and paced and its so bad. I was utterly beside myself when I lost Hazel.

    Am thinking of you

Thinking of you Wol. I hope you get a decent apology from that vet, it's disgraceful

Ahhh! been a bit of rollercoaster today.

No phone call from vet so rang at lunchtime - "'scuse me - I had it noted on file yesterday that I need a call before PM is done" -

Vets reply - OOOH he has already started..(me.....:mad:)...then comes back - ..."no, vet has been delayed; PM not started.... he will ring you imminently" (yeah yeah - I will allow you to think I have fallen for tht old chestnut ;):rotfl:)

Anyhow - lovely vet has rung several times today - and it seems like Grommie guinea went same way as Iroko ...in fact so similar that vet is now favouring (well reverted to) the (transmissable, unknown) virus infection as probable cause........and as a result I have now been advised this evening NOT to add any guineas to my herd...:(

...so no rehomed girlfriends tomoz for Ginger, Bandit and Beechie tomoz. :(:(

...and vet has said to have no contact with new guineas for 6-8 months :(...as we don;t know how this thing is spreading

The lady concerned took it well when I rang her this evening pulling out of the re-homing at the last moment..... Gosh I do feel so bad.. :o

I am gutted for my boys :(...and for the lady and her girls :o

Still - tomorrow is another day :)

At least tomoz Grommie guinea will be back home adn safe where he belongs :D

    xxx

P.S. Piggie kisses to Numpty who has been an absolute star over last few days ...and I know he is as upset as I am re Grommie.....:cry:
....Hugs and Beechie/Ginger "attitude Piggie kisses" for you Hun;)

Oh Wol! I'm so sorry. Time out on the comp, so I can't write what I feel - but I do feel for you.

Well the last 48 hours have all been very strange :o

Yesterday I felt like slitting my wrists reading the clients business plan - if you thought I was verbose (well Numpty certainly does :rotfl::rotfl:)......then you need to see the stuff they sent me - they're 100x worse - business plan was 80 pages, then is was accompanied by a 96 slide powerpoint presentation (with so much writing each slide and writing so small I couldn;t even read it on the computer screen with my glasses on so had to print it out :eek:) and then another 100 page document with scientific justification for my review which again needed printing out

    Oh the trees, the trees.....

I don;t even have enough allocated time to read it all through - let alone review or pass sensible comment, so have changed my strategy for the meeting at the end of this week. (I am paid a fixed fee which is for a max number of hours per client to include preparation, travelling time, meetings, write ups etc - so I have to be careful otherwise they'll all bleed me to death)

Well after that I gave up the will and downed a rather copious amount of alcohol..during the course of several one hour limit conversations with a certain simian..finally fell asleep upright on the sofa (upright is unheard of ) ...and STILL not having seen the end of Muppets in Space :rotfl:......and woke up (still upright) this morning at 7.30am extremely cold and stiff - serves me right :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Went to bed and woke again at noon and have just drifted around today - went to pick up Grommie from vets this pm (and pay another exhorbitant vet bill ) and got my 5p off litre of petrol from Sainsbury's on route by filling up my empty tank :money: Put some piggies in the runs late pm and sat and read a book in the sunshine.
Then did kedgeree with the rest of the trout and also made fish soupl for freezing. Still loads of batch cooking to be done over next few days....but I reckon I will be sorted food wise untill Xmas :money:

Still feeling very very weird - although I've cried about Grommie - and posted his epitaph on the guinea pig forum (and got some lovely replies) - it doesn;t seem to be helping :(. Thought it would all cut in today when I picked him up - but no .......

Anyway - tomorrow I have counselling and friday is client meet ..and then it;s the weekend.

Hopefullly I will then have got my act together properly and can enter into the "new term" with appropriate MSE intentions....which involves NOT turning the heating on this week (sarfern woose that I am :o)
