Well done on giving up the vino and all the thinking you have been doing.Am sure you'll be shipshape pretty quick especially since you've already put stuff into categories0
-
sounds like you have turned a corner wol ... well done for recognising alot of things that you felt needed dealt with ...0
-
Wow Wol....you go girl !! Sounds like recovery is well underway & planning an area a week will give you bitesize chunks & make it manageable.
I need a freezer too as I have an allotment so need to freeze....you have inspired me to get moving with it.
In terms of the wine (I`ve said this before but) ....try lime cordial ( it has to be Roses as its the best stuff) & sparkling water/soda....serve in a wine glass & enjoy. It got me off the wine & been over a year tee-total now...lost nearly a stone in weight too!
Good luck Hun.....great to see you ready to tackle the challenge ahead:j:j

Hope so!!

It's one of the slightly negative things to being on DFW - you feel so guilty about spending money :rotfl:. I'm pleased I bought the freezer - waited for 3 months on freecycle for a freebie but none came up...so finally bit the bullet and so glad I did! Also means can freeze/thaw the piggie hay to prevent future mite infections

Hmmm yes..have quite a few bottles of soda (and one lime) in atm - leftovers from the Rave. I do like lj and soda and it is my standard request if I have a car in tow .....
Great news on the weight loss :j:j - go girlie go!!
Good luck Hun.....great to see you ready to tackle the challenge ahead:j:j

Thanx Ange :kisses3:
Hopefully we can finally meet up before Xmas. Noticed you;d not been around much recently and thought you might have been "elsewhere"
Hope all is well with you Hun

Good morning Wol, and well done on drawing up your cunning plan to fight back against the universe!
The £30 a week saved on wine could go into a savings account, (set up a standing order so you don't notice it) and when it gets to a certain amount you could draw it all out and pay some of your debts off? Just a suggestion. The fags.....if you are on 20 a day at around £5 a packet, then that is £35 a week being spent on what? Shoving a bunch of dead leaves in your mouth and setting fire to them? When you do get round to knocking this crazy habit on the head then that £35 (or whatever the amount is) could be added to your standing order - then that's £65 a week (or say £260 a month) going into your savings account ready to pay towards your debts. Not that I am trying to bully you into anything, just suggesting a possible action plan for keeping off the booze, getting off and keeping off the coffin nails and paying off your debts quicker!

That was a great post Wol as you know I am a lurker on your diary... I had a breakdown about three years ago not easy to admit... But I learnt a lot about myself and my fantastic supportive O/H, and one thing I learnt was we needed to change. Not just the amount of money we were spending to make ourselves happier but a lifestyle change... He has since given up work as he has a very bad heart condition and we have just brought a narrow boat to live on.... I need some peace....:):) I still have good and bad days but am slowly changing my life for the better... You really sound like you have turned a corner x0

Sigh...Nargle - you are a wicked woman :rotfl::rotfl:...I would KILL to be able to eat a bacon sarnie..it's one of the two most things i miss since having to go gluten-free
Everything financial is in the offset - so the money saved each week from vino etc will get calculated/recorded and transferred over to the debt side of things once a month like I have been doing with the Quidco/Topcashback/share dividends etc this last year:D
As for the fags - wll the complusion for both these and the vino is based upon oral fixation stuff apparently (which actually now to me makes a lot more sense tan it did a year ago ) so one step at a time
And yes....to quit both = shedload of money saved
And no - you are not bullying.....so dinna worry thyself lassie ...keep on posting and I (and piggies ) hope things are sorting themseves out for you too :grouphug::grouphug:
Hugs Hun

YAY :j:j
Welcome out of lurkdom bast :T:T
Hopefully I have "finally got it! ...as in the need to change
Breakdowns are weird things - and as you say not easy to admit - because other peeps don;t necessarily understand what a real breakdown is and how much it can completely disorientate you and the impact it can have on your day to day life....and for how long
Well done on getting it back together and carrying on :T:T
I guess my problem has been that everyone thought once I was back in my house then any negatvie effects from the flood should just vanish overnight ....they didn;t...and even after the highly publicised rave this year.two years on after being back and finally restoring my house properly after all the hassles......well, it still didn;t "switch on the swtich"...:(....it's only this last week that I have grabbed myself by the short and curlies  and started to "implement things"
Wow narrow boats....my sis has looked into this as a possibility and I am awed that you and hubby have gone ahead and bought one.
As you say - good days and bad..keep taking those baby steps Hun.and remember that's what is so great about DFW - support in good AND bad times regardless.......
Welcome to my diary...look forward to your future posts...:T

Gosh Wol that`s it that "disorientated" feeling my o/h said I had a constant "rabbit in the headlights" look on my face
I think the problem is ... Is when you have experienced that amount of fear/anxiety/stress/ apathy you worry on your bad days.. is it happening again
But on that bad day I just think I am never going back there ever and I get the strength to carry on... Just as you have....
The boat will probably be our folly but hey the worse part was my o/h given up a fantastically well paid job everything after that is crazy but relatively easy........... She needs work though effort, time and money spending on her ... but under all the grime and rust I see her beauty lol
Take care x

Yes :T:T - there is the ever constant fear that "it's going to happen again"...but as each day passes and it DOESN'T happen ...you very slowly start to build confidence.....
If I took the electrics situation in isolation - it would NOT have been a porblem..just one of life's foibles that was easily surmountable .
But because it follows on from all the rest of the carp; it's been gven far more siginifcance than it shouild have
Thankfully it is now dismissed...but doesn;t stop me wobbling......
Well done to you and OH on reaching out for what you want ...it is NoT a folly and in time I am sure you will really come to appreciate that the decision you made was a good one
