    Hi All

I'm sorry I've been gone for a bit......:embarasse:embarasse..but it all just got too much.

There was I thinking that after The Rave this time last year I was on
the up...when I could;t have been further from the truth.

HOWEVER...on the eve of my "alleged megabirthday" (which by the way i celebrated with all you fantabidosi peepies last year, it being my 50th year and all that...because we are not born in Yr 1 but in Yr 0 IYSWIM)....

........I really felt I ought to come and update the diary...with a view to now starting a new one.

A lot of milestone thingies have happened in the last 3 months:
    1) The piggies have finally, after 2 years and horrendous vets bills, got a diagnosis ....they;re all suffering from leukaemia :( (Thank you Willlow and Bandit for donating your blood at great risk). Willow was ailing badly but is now on steroids and seems to be maintaining his weight/health....hoorah! At lest now we know what wer're dealing with and can medicate accordingy

    2) My lovely vet has left (rather suddenly) for a plumb job at Jersey zoo (Gerald durrell conservation). I am feeling slightly bereft. Then my dentist of 20 years suddenly announced he was upping and leaving too...I am now starting to develop a complex.....:rotfl:

    3) I am now in my second week of nil vino....it got far worse before it got better..one of the reasons why I haven;t been on....But it really IS now better....I'm not alcohol free as I'm drinking bottled lager..but I'm really proud of myself as I have cut alcohol units by over 50% per day overnight...and more to the point, have kicked the wine (as that was the addiction/killer)
    4) We have been "Boar dating"....Ginger and Bandit now have wifey's from rescues in Leeds and Wales...:T:T....unfortunately Bailey (he is not neutered) did not like any of the boars he was paired up with..:(....but he is going back for a second chance in a few weeks :D

    4) work has been intermittant...and full of !!!!!! :oc

So......drum roll....I have an announcement.....rather than wait until after I have retired...I have decided to take the plunge now, whilst I still have 12 years of employment left.(and all my faculties)..AND MOVE TO WALES.

I'm viewing 4 suitable properties next week; I've applied for a job at Uni of Wales; I can also apply to train as a vet nurse at a local college; the best exotics vet in the country is down the road from where I intend to buy my house; I will get free prescriptions; (and allegedly£10k if I put some sheep in my garden ): I have made a couple of lovely friends in the area over the last few months (guinea pig rescues)...and I'm buying a bungalow so it can be adapted for when I become less mobile in old age. It moves me closer to mum and dad...and I have relatives very locally.

And most importantly........I WILL BE MORTGAGE FREE WITH CASH IN THE BANK :T:T:T:T

(Oooh...and did I say......I think I have a cash buyer for my house
as she has been hounding me for the last 2 months :D)

i Wasn;t expecting to make this decision for another few years (i.e. approaching my retirement)...but the way recent events have come together is completely spooky.....and it means I really cannot afford to ignore the fates

It might come to nothing...it's a BIG ONE-WAY (non-returnable) TICKET....but I have not felt so motivated/excited since before the flood so I guess this really is the right thing to consider.....

Tomorrow I am spending the whole day with the piggies..and have written !!!!!! clients off for the rest of the month (and boy do I feel good about that). I'm not really celebrating the BIG 50...a meal with the parents next weekend is about the limit of it as I really don;t want any fuss.

Here's to a new future

Finally (and about time too!)......Wol really is getting her mojo back ;) :T:beer:

New beginnings, Wol - fabulous news! Obviously the leukaemia bit is not so good but at least you have an answer to all the questions and can deal with it accordingly. I think, since you got flooded, the house has been like a bad luck talisman around your neck (in true albatross style) and nothing seems to have gone right. Well, maybe one or two things have gone right but there has still been constant niggles in your life. If someone truly wants the house then that is all to the good. You will surely get one of the jobs you apply for, the fact that you will be mortgage-free is a bonus, being in a new place (slightly more rural perhaps? but still near civilisation) close to family and friends is the jackpot!

I think your time has at last come, Wol - and may the next 50 years be fun and fabulous!

    Wol :kisses3:

Lovely to see an update from you.
I'm glad to hear that you have piggies diagnosed, although it sounds pretty serious. You say you can medicate - this is good news, is it something that you can immunise future piggies against? (I know there is a vaccination for feline leukemia but don't know if its similar with piggies).

get2e1Z4qb6ZQAAAABJRU5ErkJggg==Sounds like a very exciting plan to move, good luck with househunting next week and fingers crossed for the Uni job - how soon might you hear?

When the time for the big move comes, if you need a hand with moving, decorating or anything (buying sheep?!!) then more than happy to be there in a jiffy (providing said jiffy is 3-4hours or so).:)

And finally Happy Birthday, hope you have a nice restful day. _party_
