Cheap iPods:£30 shuffle & £60 Nano at Morrisons

This thread is to discuss where you've found cheap iPods at Morrisons.

Morrisons has confirmed to us many of its stores have the latest (3rd generation) iPod shuffles for £20, these usually cost around £45. It also has the latest but one (4th generation) iPod Nano for £60 when it normally costs around £100.

The reason’s simple, the new models are due out in September so this is likely to be a clearance before the restocking.

How available are these?

While Morrisons has confirmed this offer is nationwide, stock at each store is sporadic, some are already all gone.

So you will need to be super quick to bag the bargain – but be prepared to turn up and find none in store.

They also have (or had!) the 16GB Ipod touch reduced to £50, the 32GB one was reduced too but not sure how much to. These offers went on yesterday morning so I doubt there'll be any of the best bargains left anywhere now especially as some stores only had a few of each items and the staff snapped them all up.

After calling around a few local Morrisons this morning it was clear that they are totally conufed at my question "Do you have any reduced price ipods in stock" and gave varying answers such as, "we don't sell ipods" to "no they were all sold last week"! Overall they just did not care to discuss it.!

So its seems that you were right about the staff getting them first!

I know someone who works at Morrisons but before I ask them to have a look can someone tell me the size of the shuffle, I have a very old (but still working) creative zen 20GB so how does this compare? Thanks x

Same here when I ring the store am told "We don't sell i Pods".

Hi Guys, this is my first post I have worked on Morrisons 'Techno Bar' for 2 years. The reason some of you are being told that Morrisons do not sell ipods is that not all stores actually stock them, only the ones that have been refitted with a 'techno bar'. Also, staff in our store are not allowed to reserve stock to purchase later and this is a disciplinary offence. Not sure about other stores.

My advice regarding any offers that come up at Morrisons: get in there early or you will be disappointed. Foodstuffs are usually in good supply, but electrical items tend to sell out quickly.

I got sent a free waterproof housing from H2O Audio, and its for a 2nd Gen Shuffle. I know nothing about ipods as I object to the restrictions of iTunes, but now I'm looking to find a Shuffle to fit the case. The picture on the MSE website looks the same as the picture on the side of the box the housing is packaged in. It sounds like the tail wagging the dog, but for £20 I'll just fill it the once as I only wakeboard for 25 mins at a time. Can anyone confirm if this is a 2nd Gen Shuffle or if it's the same dimensions. Thanks.

I think there's a typo, we've been into our local Morrisons and the shuffles are on sale for £29.99. Someone else came in also after a £20 shuffle but were also told that's wrong. The first post title quotes a higher amount than the content, and the newsletter went out saying £20 so it might be worth checking the price with your store before heading out!

OK THIS IS OLD NEWS!!!!:mad:

Firstly it is only stores with a 'Techno Bar' as stated. ALSO apparently this offer has been running for OVER a week and is total sold out in my area.

Chatted with the staff on the 'audio bar' at my store and as told that they have had people coming in for over a week asking for the 'cheap ipods'. They also called ALL the stores in the area with the 'Techno bar' all 2 of them out of around 15 stores and ALL sold out last week. Will be getting NO more stock !!!

My Advice - if your shopping there anyway ask. If not don't even bother making a special trip.

just been into ours and the have loads of the 8GB but there £110 down from £115
