i am due to renew my contract a the end of this month,
As you want to upgrade your package to include their Telephone and Broadband, you can do this anytime- you don't have to wait until the end of the month.
It would be best to contact Sky and explain that you're interested in these extra services but don't want to pay a whole lot more than you pay now. See what they offer.0 -
Only managed to get Sky to offer me 10% off my TV subscription and they wanted me to cancel my multiroom and HD pack. Due to cease at end of day on 02/05/13. Hope they call me with a better offer as if it cancels my wife will not be impressed.
I never received a retentions call during my 31 day period, and I am now with Virgin, the TiVo box is pretty good as well!0 -
Hi. Im going to cancel sky today, could my partner, with different surname and bank details, take a up a contract as a new customer in a month or so? This would get the best 'new customer' deals.
Thanks0 -

Being disgruntled with Virgin, I rang Sky and asked if they could do the 12 months half price deal I had seen on MSE, after stating it had ended he asked how much I got from Virgin [basic tv, weekend calls and broadband £60mth]
After much discussion I got Sky World HD, unlimited broadband and anytime calls for £59 on a 12 month contract plus free Sky+ HD box and free installation. I accepted and will have it in 4 days.
I then became curious and looked at what the online version would offer for the same package £77mth plus £169 for the box! I was always of the opinion online deals were cheaper but from now on I will telephone and haggle:j0 -
Hi all,
I got a 50% off for 12 months code from MSE back in Feb and got a sky bundle. I just tried adding ESPN and found that sky say they have no records of me using a code and my bill is twice as much as expected! Does anybody know where I can find the code ( or if I can get an old email resent to me? ) on MSE again? I didn't save it anywhere else as I thought everything was sorted
cheers

Hi, my 12 month contract with VM comes to an end this week (I've been with them for about five years in total now). Currently I'm paying this per month:
PHONE: £14.99 rental + £8 XL anytime landline calls + £2.25 caller display = £25.24
TV: £8 M+ package + £5 TiVo fee = £13
BROADBAND: £18 for 60Mb
TOTAL: £56.24
This is exactly the same price as I get when I go for a new package on VM's website (once their initial 6 month special offer comes to an end).
I've read here that both VM and Sky are proving tougher nuts to crack these days when it comes to haggling, but this is a LOT of money (£675 a year!) and I'm wondering whether I have any hope of bringing the price down. My wife loves the TiVo box, which is about our only reason for not switching to one of BT's YouView packages, the comparable cost of which would be about £40/month, a substantial saving.
Any tactics I should employ when I phone up to try and bring down my cost? (I know they'll probably encourage me to pay my line rental a year in advance and save that way, but I'm not sure I want to tie myself in for another full 12 months). Any department I should make sure I speak to? Any help appreciated.0
