Depeending on who you get through to, Sky are or were running an offer for the line rental at £1 per month and half price unlimited calls. They have a cracking offer of 6 months free unlimited broadband and anytime talk at the moment, may as well benefit from that and get sky to change your talk and broadband package after that.0

The problem is that the process of changing your broadband supplier involves a lot more hassle and inconvenience than simply getting Sky TV switched on or off. And the same goes for your landline 'phone, once Sky has got hold of it.
It's all very well to get a marvellous deal on broadband for a year but when that year is over you may not like what Sky will then ask you to pay for it.Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance

I have been a VM customer for ten years, just rang them to see if they could do me a better deal, no chance, wanted an ectra £9 a month to upgrade to M+ TV, Broadband and phone M with TV box.
They are offering this half price for 6 months for new customers, which I argued, but she was having none of it, could hardly hear what she was saying throughout the call. Her final offer was a VHD box and TVM+ for an extra £4 a month - umm I think not!
Trouble is Sky don't do the bundle broadband in my area so we are stuck really.0 -
I had Virginmedia and the d/l speed was terrible, and the modem router, a Netgear DGN1000 is the worst on the market + you can't upgrade the firmware because it's locked to Virgin.
My D/L speed from Virgin (copper wire) was no more than 5mb/s.
Considering I live almost next door to the exchange I was VERY shocked, I'm now with TALKTALK 14mb/s suits me just fine.
My Son works for Virgin and can get the COMPLETE 100mb/s +tv multiroom package for £10 per month.................. if only I lived in a cabled area!!!!!!! Damn.
lucky him wish i could get 100mb for £10 a month sounds like VM ripping their customers off big time when you hear stories of that.
But if you notice the pic in my post thats my connection, but according to them i'm getting 20mb, still waiting on the new modem, no idea what one i got its the blue one, with a DIR-615 router which is now removed thinking it was that, that was causing me to loose 10mb, but its not, modem directly connected, system tuned using tuneup utilties for upto 16mb connection, and still getting the same speed. looks like i'm going to have to phone to complain about my speed, it could be a simple case of them throttling my speed from 20mb to 10mb permanately, after all on 10mb i was 90% of the time getting 2mb.0 -

When I 'live chatted' with an advisor I was told I could get 12 months free line rental but only on the talk evenings & weekends deal. They also mentioned the £10 off TV for 6 months but didn't make any mention of the 6 months free unlimited broadband, although I noticed that is currently advertised on their website.0 -

Thanks for reminding me about this,
I phoned earlier this evening aleady have sky hd entertainment+ @ £25.62 a month, but enquired what they could offer me if i switched my BT broadband and calls package which with line rental i pay aprox £45 a month.
Without prompting and hesitation i was offered the 6 months free unlimited broadband and calls, plus £1 a month line rental for 12 months, all on a 12 month contract. So i've switched.
By my calculations for the 1st 6 months i save £44 a month, the remaining 6 months i save £31.50. (barr the £2.18 p&p charge for the router).
Then come 12 months later i can either take another offer, pending what they have, or consider switching to a different provider.
So, yeah basically the £1 line rental for 12 months offer is still available and can be used in conjunction with the 6 months free unlimited broadband and unlimited calls.0 -
OK, just been on live chat again and have now been offered Talk Unlimited and unlimited BB free for 6 months. Half price TV Extra and Sky Sports for 6 months and 12 months free line rental. So that makes it £22.50 pm for 6 months and then £57.50 pm for next 6 months. I will drop the talk unlimited and unlimited BB after 6 months to bring it down to £45pm. Seems pretty good, or am I selling myself short? Presumably I will get the M&S voucher and see if I can get TCB as well, although this probably won't work.0

You'll be unable to drop talk and broadband after 6 months without penalty fees as it's a 12 month contract.0 -

Where is live chat for Sky - I have always phoned and got nowhere so this might be better.0 -
We are currently paying £107 per month. Thats for HD in one room, sky+ multi room and another multi room....so we have 3 boxes. It also includes phone and broadband. Do you think it would be worth my while ringing up to see if I can get it reduced for a period of 6 months? I was also considering adding another multi room but the charges are crazy having to pay for a box and installation.0
