Thanks for the opportunity to vote in something like this. Sorry not going to vote as I don't like either.
Forumite sounds complex and I think anyone new to the world of moneysaving might be confused by that term and could be put off.
Forumer is just as unclear, non plain English. I think in any interview Martin people might think you were talking about Forerunners.
If we want people to recognise us as a group, feel welcome in the community and get on with moneysaving then let's go with simpliciity - users.
Edit: oops clearly too late decision made but the voting buttons are still there.Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

I take it 'forum user' wasn't catchy enough?0

Sorry, don't like either. "Forumites" sound like some kind of troublesome insect that would eat your home or make you itch. "MSEers" would be my preference.Hope is not a strategy.0

I don't like either - MSE'r or forum member sounds better to me.
It's only a game

The current correct name is trolls.0

Oh dear, whatever word you choose won't catch on except amongst a small clique of MSE regulars. It'll just be more unnecessary jargon for casual users of MSE's excellent resources.0

At first I didn't like the chosen word, 'Forumites', but like many things that you don't like initially, you need to give it a chance - sort of like eating oysters.
I now love oysters, and would pay good money to eat them, but you couldn't pay me to use 'Forumites'!
Of all the forums in all the world, why does MSE have to be the one that needs a name for users?0
