Went for tea - cost £13:eek:
Oh well - will have to try to stretch the cash left (£50) until Friday.
    Why is it soooo hard?!
I may have to start telling OH "no" - we have separate accounts and finances apart from the bills etc and it was my decision (supported by him) to give up a very well paid job to retrain as a teacher.
I have tried really hard not to let this affect him (even though he says he doesn't mind) but its getting harder - it'll be easier from mid Sept when I start working fulltime and getting paid again (start on Sept 1st and hopefully get paid on Sept 15th) but I must admit to finding it a struggle lately.

Every now and then I get the jitters and panic about it all but the majority of the time I'm positive and look forward. Having a minor flap about things now:o

Anyway, tomorrow is a new day and a new challenge - onwards and upwards (although it is quite hard sometimes:)).

    Money in purse £50

Right - its a new day and we're off on our mini holiday!
    Its not raining yet either!

Just checked the banks etc and no surprises there. Ebay also has gone mad overnight and the big pile of Slimming World magazines I listed individually is looking positive. Virtually all of them have bids or watchers - only 99p each but I was going to throw them away!

Have a few things to do before we go (like pack!) including posting an ebay item that netted £9:j.

Will pop in on Thursday when we're back and update on the, no doubt, scary spends although I will do my best to keep it as low as possible.

We're back! A good time was had by all - a very tired doggy is currently asleep on my lap:).

I did take £30 extra out of the cashpoint while we were there but have £20 of that left in my purse so only £10 over the budget I'd set myself and no spends on debit or credit cards so I suppose that's quite positive. I'm going to take that extra money from next week's "spend" budget and hopefully it will all balance out in the end.

A few things sold on ebay that need posting but only a few pounds worth - it'll all add up.
According to paypal and the "secret" bank account I get the cash transferred into I have £36 from ebay and £8 from Music Magpie from the last week or so totalling £44. I'd like to get to £50 so will try to think of something else to part with.;)

Just been to Tescos for the food shopping and used the Sun £5 voucher bringing the shopping in at pennies less than £43 - I had a budget of £45 so just squeaked in!

I'm determined to get back to only eating food cooked at home, starting today, after the binges of late - starting with a nice sweet potato curry, naan bread, samosas and bhajis tonight. Better for the waist line and purse!

I have to post a couple of things this afternoon but apart from that today is a NSD (postage is paid by the buyers so doesn't count).
I may pop back later with some budget rejigs......

    Morning!
Congratulations on your payrise Littlekel - brilliant news!

I have had a look through the finances again and have found the following....
    • Overdraft by the time I get paid again if I stick to the original budget - £-744
    • Money made from ebay etc so far this time - £55.85 (in a separate account or in paypal the moment)
    • Savings 1 - £2650 (not to be touched)
    • Savings 2 - £15
    • CC - £18 balance
    • Loan payment on 17th Sept - £345
    • Surveys balance - £6.65
    • Quidco potential payments - £98.41 (no idea when this will be paid, all tracked or validated)
    • Money in purse - £15.50
    • Money in car and Xmas 2011 tin - £2 each tin
We also have a joint savings account with a few hundred pounds in that is not to be touched and not all mine!
Anything in RED is money I owe, everything else is mine and in credit (or will be mine).

So, obviously the initial goal is to minimise and pay back the overdraft. The aim is to make as much as possible from ebay etc in the next 2 weeks (up to £55 now) and try to economise on the food and spending budget by a bit so hopefully I can claw back £100 before I get paid making the overdraft less than £650 instead of £744.

Today is a quiet day sorting out school stuff, doing laundry and housework and walking the dog for fresh air and exercise. I must pop to the post office to post a couple of ebay items.
I'm starting my healthy eating (diet!) today after the trip away and generally gluttony lately. So maybe the food budget will go down a bit!:rotfl::rotfl:

    Quick update before I forget....
    • one more survey done - balance now £7.15
    • one ebay item will sell - £2.20 at the moment
Just little things but I suppose it all adds up.

Money in purse - £13 (bought dog treat from butcher, envelope and postage)

A very nice man has just been to the door asking if I wanted my drive block paved - it looked lovely (someone down the street is having it done) and only cost £1800!!!!
    I don't have 1800p let alone £1800 spare!:rotfl::rotfl:

The funny thing is that a few years ago when I was earning loads more I probably would have gone for it! (I was in debt then too!)

    Morning all!
Just been putting a load of stuff out for a community collection that I salvaged from the attic yesterday - its quite a good scheme, you put out anything you want to get rid of and they come around to pick it up and take the rubbish to the tip and recycle anything worth doing and donate any usable stuff to local charities. Looking at the pile outside my house it looks like we've been evicted!

I also found a perfectly good portable TV in the attic so I'm thinking about taking it to a cash converter type of place - maybe they'll give me a few quid for it?

Today I need to post an ebay parcel and pop to the cashpoint for the money for the week. Apart from that its housework and general faffing before going to a BBQ this afternoon - I'm driving to save money on taxis and booze (and I don't really like the host, one of OH's friends, so it will be good to escape when I've had enough).;)

Just updating whilst I think about it......

Cash converter place didn't want the TV, neither did 2 charity shops (electrical goods are a no-no apparently) so took it to a junk shop round the corner who took it - at least someone may get some use out of it rather than it going in a skip.
Community collection has been and I now have a tidy house and drive! Am well impressed with the scheme.

Posted ebay parcel and withdrew £20 at the post office using cash card - didn't know you could do this until the man told me, saved a trip to the cashpoint.
Spent £3 on 3 massive baking potatoes (£1) at the greengrocers and 8 cans of Diet Pepsi (£2) on offer at Booze Busters.

Have also done the housework - been a busy girl!

    Money in purse £21

Just found a web site that will pay cash into your Paypal account for empty ink cartridges - £2 each for my printer - may have a look and see if they're reputable..... may be a few extra quid?

    ETA
They seem to be going for more than that on ebay so have listed them - can always sell them for recycling if they don't get anywhere on ebay.

    Morning!
Well the ink cartridges are now bid up to more than I'd get for recycling them so a good decision to try them on ebay - I only did a 1 day auction so they'll close today making at least a fiver:j.
The BBQ yesterday was a bit of a wash out but ok socially in the end - we stayed until 7pm and then came home and watched a movie - I didn't spend a penny as I drove and didn't drink so a cheap day out I suppose.

I also found out that I don't have to pay my student loan back until April 2011 meaning another £60 ish in my pay packet a month until then - that'll help ease the situation quite a bit whilst I'm getting back on my feet again.:T

The dog seems to have a poorly paw :( (licking it a lot and not putting much weight on it) so a trip to the vets on Tuesday will be necessary I think. More money but he is insured if its anything big - hopefully not.

A few jobs to do today... a bit of housework and laundry, school work and maybe a trip to the cinema later. What a glam life I lead!
