The Final Push - Getting Rid of the Last Loan and CC

Had a bit of a rubbish day - went to the doctors for a "female" problem and it turns out I may have fibroids - have to go for a scan on Thursday to find out - BOO!!!
So, in a sulk, I spent £5 on a Subway meal deal and £5 in the shop round the corner on unnecessary bits.
Haven't managed to phone payroll people or tax people (due to bad mood and being quite upset about it all) or do anything else vaguely moneysaving.:o
On the plus side, the pashmina arrived and its nicer than it looked in the photo and brand new - it was from a "seconds" seller and I can't see anything at all wrong with it, so its brand new as far as I'm concerned:p
Right, will pull myself together, do the hoovering and make some nice veggie curries for tea using up the veg from the fridge. I'll start again on the debt busting tomorrow - promise - just a cr*p day today.0 -
Chin up chook. We all get rubbishy days and fall off the wagon, the important thing is you recognised it xxxxxxxxxxNothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!0

Thanks Josie!
I'm promising myself that tomorrow will be a better day - I just have to get on with it.
I'm sharing (in the loosest term, its mine!) a bottle of wine with the OH, having a mood for tonight and then forgetting about it until I know what can be done about it. We were hoping to start trying for a baby after Xmas (when I've settled into the new job) but at the moment its impossible so its a bit depressing all round really.
I'm not a "dweller" so tomorrow will be a new day and I'll be doing my usual tackling the issue head on!
In fact, the scan is being paid for privately as the NHS wait is 4 months and I can have it done on Thursday for £100. The sooner I know what exactly is wrong the quicker it can start to get fixed. Typical me - but I see it as an essential spend. My mum is trying hard to pay for it but it's my problem and I'll sort it! So there!
Anyway, going to have a bath and watch rubbish telly and then get on with it in the morning. I will not let this get me down.;)0 -
Morning!
Feeling a bit more positive today - just going to get on with it.
Today I have to phone the payroll people again about my underpayment and call the tax office to sort them out too. Priority number one!
OH's contribution to the household expenses has landed in my account as usual today so I look rich for a llittle while at least!:rotfl:
I will also have a quick look at the budget again today to see if there's anything else I can cut back on - don't think there will be but you never know.
I HAVE to do some school work today - did nothing yesterday - or I'll start to panic soon. Its 2 weeks until I go back to work so better pull my finger out!
I had to cancel lunch with my friend on Thursday because of the hospital appointment so I suppose there's a few quid saved (offsetting the unnecessary sulking spends yesterday:o).
We're having chicken (quorn for me) in a BBQ sauce with HM wedges and corn on the cob for tea all from stores and I don't plan to do a big shop until at least the end of next week as we're away for a few days next week and when the fresh stuff runs out later in the week we're just going to have to use up what's in the freezer and cupboard. Will probably provoke a few moans from OH but he can either like it or go to the shops himself!
Right enough woffling on - must get on with things!0 -
Just a little update - been to the park with the dog and called in at the butchers on the way home to get some bacon for OH's tea - instead of buying a pack from the Spar that won't all get used I got three nice thick rashers for 90p:j. I suppose even a pound or two saved all makes a difference.
I also had a look around the greengrocers and there's lots of bargains to be had but I didn't buy anything - we have to use up what we have first. Oooohhhh- listen to me!
Came home to a letter from Lloyds who are now investigating my PPI claim - said it would be resolved within 8 weeks - you never know. I won't give up without a fight though!;)0 -
Hiya Rachel, just popping in to say good luck for tomorrow in case I don't get on small things in the morning! Thinking of you! xNothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!0
-
Thanks Josie.
Not looking forward to it but it has to be done.
xx0 -
Good luck Rachel, hope it all goes well today

Thanks Been!
Went for my scan and it turns out that everything on it was normal (doesn't solve the mystery pain though) so its back to the doctors for a referral to the gynae clinic for more investigation - what fun! At least there were no big nasties discovered I suppose.
Still flipping hurts though!
On the NSD front have spent again today - had a can of pop, packet of crisps and a Wispa to celebrate the scan result (bit of a relief) Sorry!:o
Pop and crisps have been scoffed but may save the Wispa for OH to stop me feeling quite as bad! Will see how the afternoon goes........
I have to really try hard to find a way to save £50 from my budgets this month - OH and I are paying half each for the scan (bless him) and I could take my £50 out of my savings but really don't want to if I can help it. Might have a look at ebaying some academic teaching books that I don't use - they normally go quite well.
I'm going to have a look at a meal plan for next week - we're only around on Sat and Sun and away then until Fri. So I'll see if I can dredge some meals up out of the freezer and spend less than a tenner on anything we need extra - milk, bread, fruit etc.
Right my mission for this afternoon is to find some ebay stuff, take the dog to the park, hoover and dust downstairs and do a little bit of school work.
I'm off.......0 -
Well, I've had a productive afternoon - have listed 5 things on ebay - one has sold already as a "Buy it Now" for £12.:j
Have also sold some unwanted old DVDs and CDs to Music Magpie for £8 - they were just cluttering the house up and will now be gone! I'm sure that there's a box of CDs in the attic somewhere - if I can find them they can go too - been there for years and no-one even remembers that they're there - they won't be missed!;)
So I have already made £20 today in cash (a bit more as I think I've overestimated the postage) and done 2 surveys for £1.75.
We'll see how much more I can make.... only another £30 and my scan is paid for.
Better get that hoover out!0
