Have just made an oven mitt for MIL's christmas hamper too (and cut out the bits I need for a pot holder too - just need to sew it but have run out of oomph)
DD2 is still feeling a bit under the weather so is having another pj day - but that seems to involve eating me out of house and home.

Ive just done a 4 mile run and did go a bit faster...not for 10 mins though!

I am p*****d off as DS3 has just failed his theory. I do so feel for him as nothing comes easy to him and he tries so very hard. But he just shrugged and said never mind the best never pass first time!!

You are probably right Sally about him being gutted, but he so takes after my dad who used to believe in "if you get knocked down, pick yourself up, dust yourself off and try again - don't ever give up". I just so feel for him. As I said earlier a friend is suffering from depression and I am too far away (miles wise) to help her too. will be glad to get to bed tonight, but that will be only after going and helping my friend who is very poorly.
