A much sought after one it seems :rotfl:0 -
You, who would have seen by reading the starting post that the OP has his car in the auction, therefore my post being correct.
It's quite simple pal, don't read my posts if you don't like my advice, I'm not advising you, not asking anyone to take my advice, I'm offering it, this is a open free forum.
I would be grateful in future if you simply ignore my posts Inactive, that way you or I don't get into a disagreement, which in this case, would not have happened if you cared to read the first post correctly prior to replying to mine
why dont you BOTH bog off and start an argumentitive thread rather than ruining this one?
selfish, you two? never :-)0 -

Make sure that you do not give them the keys without you being in the passenger seat first and having taken details from their ID.
Follow that and the other safety rules and you should be ok. Best thing is that if you get a bad feeling for the "buyer" then don't do the deal.0 -

Its a Focus Diesel that's not worth the £5000+ that the 2 new bidders have got it up to. I've cancelled their bids.
I can't see what the scam would be either, but thanks for all the advice guys.0 -
But if you agree to a "Cash on Delivery", isnt their a chance they will demand a test drive, and then offer you lower?, to say nothing of the chance of fake money?
Test drive????????your joking once they arrive extract cash, sign paperwork, give em keys, its their car now.
Alternatively the majority of listings will allow a viewing and potential test drive upon deposit, highly likely a sale will occur and you then dont have to pay final value fees.Official MR B fan club, dont go............................0 -

They are almost certainly traders, they will push the price up to a high level, then when they come round your house there will be 4 or 5 family members, they will hit you with faults that nobody could have reasonably spotted, ask for your "last price" and thry and beat you down to what they really wanted to pay before they started bidding.
And yes I was a trader for many years and have seen this done many times, the way most traders operate is much the same, they try to get it for as little as possible.
With some buyers it is better not even to entertain them, the bid is not a chance to come and haggle, the buyer is supposed to come before the auction to ascertain the value of the car and it's faults, not "bid to barter" as some do.
I hope you post your eventual outcome, I would be delighted to be proved wrong, however I doubt it.
I tried to sell cars on Ebay a few years ago, the best option is to use the classified advert option, or even better, use Autotrader.0 -

Thanks for the heads-up. I have a price which I can't go below, anything over that is a bonus. I've got someone coming to view tomorrow night so fingers crossed. I will update asap.0 -
Have just checked the listing and one of the 'too high' bidders from yesterday had put another silly bid in and sent a question asking if I would ship to Africa!! Thanks to the earlier info from you guys, I obviously said NO. Cheers!0
