  • My mate in NY recommends the Harlem Community Gospel Choir tour, show and brunch - I think there's lots of companies offering tickets, here's one I Googled:

I'd recommend taking the Beast - it's a speedboat tour round the harbour and you go up close to the Statue of Liberty for photos. It's not your regular boat ride - you go quite fast and I'd advise a jacket for the inevitable water spray. Your tour guide is called 'Mad Dog' :p and it's great fun bouncing over the water and we raced with another boat - very silly, but a good laugh. When I went I thought we left from the South Port area, but looking at their website, it seems to go from near West 42nd + 12th, so perhaps they've moved since I went. ($17 adults, $11 kids, open May - October)

I like Time Out guides and the website for listings of what's on and the current or 'in' places to go:

  • Visit O'Lunney's Times square pub at 145 West 45th St in the evening for a beer. (Just down the street from the Swatch Shop)

Ask for Ronnie Kelly (barman) and tell him David from North Wales sent you !!!

Just found a PDF guide to New York I have if anyone wants a copy.

PM me your email address and I will send it to you. It's 7mb, so make sure your email will take it.

It's one year out of date, but has nice pictures, reviews of main attractions and some things never date.

I don't see why not as they confirm it with you a few days before you leave the UK and you could tell them before that and when they phone to confirm, you can check they have your new hotel.

If you PM me your email address, I will send you a whole heap of info on NYC

  • Ooooh oohhh

I love NYC and agree with all the posts above!! One thing that I don't think anyone has mentioned is this:
In the centre of times square you will find the Marriott Hotel..In it is a revolving bar which overlooks times square. I timed it last time I was there and it took 45 mins to revolve... It is a lovely bar and worth a vist :)

Life is sometimes a bit pants but occasionally you can wear your french knickers! :D

The info has been sent in emails, if you've not got it, let me know and I will try again.

I have made some of my New York photos public if anyone wants to see the view from the Top Of The Rock and what the Hershey's name in lights looks like etc.
