So hard to say what the best bits were did ESB and the Rock but the latter I found a bit too scarey so wouldn't do it again but rest of group loved it. The bus trips are excellent value at $49 for 3 different tours, a boat trip and a free museum entry. Walking was such good fun. Did little shopping Bloomingdales does 11% off card as well as Macy's. We saw Will Smith filming which was fab! Ellis Island was fantastic, Grand Central Station, Teas at the Waldorf Astoria (tho Sunday brunch looked better but not sure of the cost!!). So many thins please anyone pm if they want anymore info!!
I am jealous you saw Will Smith !!!!!! Glad you had a good time****************************0 -

I can recommend Lion King - it was absolutely magical! There are no cheap tickets to behad (as far as we could tell) so we paid around $160 each, but it was honestly worth every single penny (or cent).
Has anyone done the Niagara Falls trip? We want to do it in the spring while we're holidaying in NYC, but can't find out if we can pre-book or whether we need to book when we get there.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
i'd be interested in info on the niagra falls trip too, if anyone can advise us :beer:know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0

Splash out for dinner at robert di neros place tribeca grill its in the china town area, have lunch or afternoon tea at saks fifth ave, you can buy their devine table ware to take home from the store. Have a bueberry muffin and coffee at bloomingdales and check out tiffany's window at dawn. Take an internal flight to boston for the day for around $80, boston is the most european citie of the states.... have a pint at the slaughtered lamb, then have your tarot read in grenwich village...
Use the subway, it's so much better than the london tube and walk a lot, gt your bearings and dont miss a trick
And get the hell out of manhatton for a few hours, go to brooklyn heights, what a view!
All the obvious ones have been said, me, i didn't like the empire state, wtc had the best views, alas no more.....
Go see the site and visit century 21 for shopping0 -
God. i've come to the end of the thread and was really enjoying everyone tips and ideas, but best of all was everyone's enthusiam. I'm going in a couple of weeks and I'm so looking forward to it. My OH has to work 4 out of the 7 days we are there so I will be on my own for at least 3 days. Is there anywhere I shouldn't go/do on my own? We'll probaly try to do most of the sightseeeing together although my OH has been there many times on his own.
Apart from the sights I've also booked to hair my teeth whitened. How vain is that? I was quoted £600/700 in the Uk and have just booked with brightsmile for $399 so a good saving.
We are also buying my children a computer for xmas and I was wondering whether it is worth buying it in the states and shipping home. Anyone else bought items that you can't fit in your hand luggage? Are the savings worth the hassle?Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0 -
