    hi,

i sent a iphone 3g via special delivery to this storage unit for earth mobile. This was recorded as received on the 9th august signed by "dennis". I can prove this as i have the royal mail tracking number.

So in reply to the earlier quote from dennis, why was my phone accepted on the 9th august, 3 days after earth mobile notified you that they had ceased trading?

If anyone has any advice on my situation i would appreciate it. I am in the pot of people that technically still own their phones as they either sent them after the ceased trading notification or never received an offer for the phone.
they are all in it together
lets get a possy together and go and kick the doors in and get our phones back ;yeeeeeeee haaaaaaaa,
thts the only way to get them. And to you dennis you are full off bull s--- you can get in you just wont because you are in on it.
What goes round comes round mate

Your complete lack of knowledge of the law, business procedures and slanderous comments are a waste of this column's space.

What right would your landlord have - if you rent a place - to come in when you were away and send your sofa back to DFS or wherever if you hadn't kept up your payments? None !

Either make sensible contributions or refrain from idiotic ones.

like all your complete knowledge of the law and business procedures is going to get my phones or the phones of all these people back i dont think so mate. the only idiotic contributions on this thread apart from yours are the ones who say there is a chance of getting phones back or paid for them, have a word with yourself mate, stop talking a load of bull, no one is getting anything from these rip off merchants.

if i lived close to the ripoff merchants i would be there in a flash demanding my phone.
i am a betting man myson and i bet you that i would have more chance of justise than you and all the goody two shoes who go through the so called correct business procedures

as i got ripped off with 105 pounds my comments are not a waste of this column's space, infact i am saying what a lot of people are thinking. how much did they rip you off with.
GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE MATE THIS THREAD IS OPEN TO ALL.

    1. The fact that you say that they are all in it together is incorrect. Read the Dennis - the site owner's posts again. You will see that he, too, is a creditor, no doubt for unpaid rent.

    2. Once mail has been delivered to Earthmobile's premises, it is against the law for any unauthorised person to tamper with that mail - and that includes the landlord.

    3. The only person on site who can keep us informed is Dennis - since Russell chooses not to - so why antagonise him by saying "They are all in it together" ?

Be level headed and don't upset the one friend that is on site and who has been most helpful, not only on the forum but by phone too.
  • I sent a letter recorded delivery addressed to Earth Mobile administrators to the same address I sent my phone. So at least when things eventually got sorted out my claim to my property would be there...

Unfortunately the complete ________ (Im not going to go there as I am far too angry!!!!) Denis would not accept my letter and it was returned!

The stupid moron was happy to accept everyones phones but cant do the decent thing and accept a letter so I might get it back!! Or maybe he is just too bloody stupid to realise he might have been doing the right thing putting my letter with the companies other mail??

Cheers Denis have a great day!!
  • So iv had the same problem sending off an iphone. Got the envelope pretty quick but have had no response since the email valuing the phone... (W******) sooo the site they have at the moment says "WE REGRET TO ANNOUNCE THAT EARTHMOBILE HAS CEASED TRADING AS OF THE 9TH AUGUST 2010" so i did a little research in to who owns the Domain and it came up with all his details, Address, Name etc...Then looking for him on the good ol' facebook found a pic of him and matching some of the living details i found out about him...

i cant paste the link but go on networksolutions dot com and put the company URL in the search.

and im sure most of you have facebook so search for him and do what you will with the info. I shall be going to the police see what they can do.

Sorry if this i not helpful :)
  • Emailed today to see if their auto response has changed, got this

Further to the announcement that Earthmobile has ceased trading as of the 9th August 2010, and following discussions with Trading Standards, we would advise that all customers seeking the return of their handset or payment please make contact with Consumer Direct who are co-ordinating all enquiries on a National Level.
You will be asked to identify your handset by make, model, date of postage, imei number, colour, and anything else that will help identify your handset. All claims need to be submitted by the 31st of October.
Phones that have been received after the announcement should in theory be returned by Royal Mail, but we will be working with our local sorting office to obtain any phones they are unable to return and these will be held along with all our stock in storage under the supervision of the local Trading Standards Office.
Further announcements will be made following ongoing discussions with Trading Standards.
We would like to offer our apologies to everyone affected by our announcement and be reassured that we will work closely with Trading Standards to repatriate as many handsets as possible.

    Managing Director
    Earthmobile Ltd

Suprise suprise i rang consumer direct who said they're an advisery service and don't do things like that, they'd never heard of him and it was untrue.

What is this guys problem. why can't he just come out, be honest and say we're not getting anything?!

I said I'd call him back at the end of the week as hopefully he would know something by then, I will pass on to put us up a message on the Website!! Thanks!!

Earth Mobile owe me £113 or my 3 mobiles back, i have been in contact with trading standards who told me about this web site but it still does not help get our money or phone back!
  • Hi ntowers, denis has been answering on this page now so hardly worth bugging him with phonecalls too. I think Russell Tilbury has stung us all good and proper, dont think we're likely to get anything back, speaking to Consumer Direct seems to reiterate this.
Although they have said today that we should send the details of make, model, imei etc etc to Earthmobile just incase there is any truth in his auto respond email.
Apparently Consumer Direct work with the Public on behalf of trading standards, but will not be aware of cases that Trading Standards are involved with. So if they are involved with EarthMobile and are acting on our behalf Consumer Direct will not be able to tell us this. If that makes sense!! However they will take all the details of make model etc etc and put it on your case notes if u speak to them, but they will advise u to send them in writing also!!
  • I too have been caught up in this scam!
Could I be covered by the phone insurance i have through my bank account?? In theory... my phone has been stolen, just without the sim card in it? Could I be covered?
