We play Upwords, boggle, yahtzee, rummicub, mastermind, mancala, perudo and othello. Apples to apples is great if there are more than 2 of you and Carcassonne is fantastic for something completely different. K.0

If you enjoy monopoly but find the original can go on forever the tropical island one is good for a quicker game you do need a dvd player though. If you want group games taboo and cranium go down well had many a [STRIKE]drunken[/STRIKE] good night with friends in hysterics with those two :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

Not a board game BUT it's hysterical when you're playing - whether it would work with just 2 I don't know - we have 3 generations playing
Pass The Bomb
you have to say a word with the letter combination on the card - you throw a dice to tell you where in the word the combination may/may not be...after a while desperate people start to mutter complete gibberish...and a plastic bomb incorporating a mystery timer and the bomb is held by each player in turn - if you're holding it when it expodes you lose!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

I hope I've posted this in the right place as I wasn't sure where else it'd go - feel free to move it if needs be!
My DH and I absolutely love playing Scrabble (could probably give Mr and Mrs MSE a run for their money!) We've got a week off together later in the month where we plan to do as little as possible. We've said we'll each buy a DVD and we'll buy a couple of new board games. I think Rummikub (sp?) looks good but are there any others which people can recommend? After a bad experience where a Monopoly game lasted 4 hours one holiday, we're not too keen on that :rotfl:Any other suggestions?
COUNTDOWN!!!! Sooooo addictive! you may have to try ebay or amazon though as ours looks like its from the 80s!First baby born 10/06/10:heartpuls 6lb 10z:heartpulsI love my little family0
