Gosh, poor you. We're just edging towards exchange and our buyers have started making issues about wanting rugs and pictures thrown into the deal. Where do these people come from?
Sounds to me like your buyer is on the back foot and just needs your agent to gently make her see sense. Deal or no deal. And I’d agree that if you give ground now that they’ll almost certainly be something else that she comes up with by the time exchange is possible. Good luck!

Isn't this now an extra 2.5k, bringing the total new discount to 22.5k?
I've lost track, but she sounds as mad as a box of frogs. Is she hoping that in the next few hours, she can get you to agree below the stamp duty threshold she claimed to know nothing about.
If it does all actually go through, what are you leaving her as a housewarming present?

OP hold your nerve
The second fax shows hers are clearly shredded (+ yes, she does sound a bit mental) and it's a good bet she will capitulate.
What an idiot the buyer is.... ( "didn't know stamp duty was 3%" ?!? )
does sound like she doesn't have a clue, is messing around and will cave.... On the bright side, things are looking a lot better for you

Very easy for me to say, but tell her the price stays as agreed until midnight tonight, then it goes back up £20k.

I think I might stick with renting if these are the sort of arseholes you have to deal with. :undecided0 -
dont drop a penny, if she wants it then 2k isnt gonna stop her, if she's a messer she will mess you about either way and you will feel worse if you do drop and she still pulls out. stick to your guns.
fingers crossed for you0 -

I really sympathise OP. We have a similar disaster going on with our chain of 4.southernscouser wrote: »Very easy for me to say, but tell her the price stays as agreed until midnight tonight, then it goes back up £20k.

We have two morons at the bottom who are still at the mental age of 6, in the schoolyard, arguing over a couple of scruffy old dinky toys.
The EA overseeing the whole chain is an insecure bully with a spreading wet patch on the front of his trousers.
Except of course that there’s a lot more at risk than dinky toys, and actually, on reflection, that’s an insult to six-year olds…0 -

I don't like the way you quoted me when talking about adults acting like 6 year olds. :rotfl:0
