  • As many of you know, I'm a bit of a list freak at the best of times. Every month I make myself a "monthly goals" list under the heading of work, house, garden etc etc etc. I have decided to add two more categories covering my 101 list - "Finish one thing" and "Start three more things"

I'm also a list person, I like the idea of a monthly goals list. I think I might adopt this idea.

Baileys Babe - I am renowned for my lists at home. My DH absolutely hates them, but I find they help me focus better.

As well as my 101 things to do in 1001 days, I have my monthly goals and a weekend list (this used to be daily until I returned to work full time). My monthly goals are split into 11 headings: work, finances, allotment, house, garden, health, sewing room, relaxation, simplicity, 101 things (finish one thing) and 101 things (start three things). I find it easier to do headings than to write random goals. There is always at least one thing under each heading but I have had to restrict the list to 15 items this month as I'm not very motivated at the moment.:o

My weekend list is just stuff like load the washing machine, hoover the hall, dust the living room etc. I usually add one or two from my monthly goal onto there if I'm slacking!! I think my record so far was a list of 50 tasks one weekend - and I did them all!:T

Don't get me started on the cleaning schedule list I used to do before returning to work......

    Good luck! stitchy x

PS Anyone would thing I'm organised, but I'm not really - just obsessive about lists :rotfl:

Thank you Stitchy for the categories on your monthly list, some of them are relevant to me, others not at all (work, sewing, allotment), I'm curious what sort of thing do you include under simplicity. I also like the idea of limiting the amount of items in total, which hopefully keeps it manageable.

At work I was renowned for my organisational skills, which in truth was my lists and being able to remember little personal details about the people I worked with eg that X had a new grand daughter or the A B C's favourite cakes when buying sustainance for team meetings.

  • I'm curious what sort of thing do you include under simplicity.

Last year I was looking at "voluntary simplicity" as a lifestyle choice. This heading was for things like Freecycle 3 things, Ebay 5 items etc
To be honest, I lost my way a bit on it so this month the goal is "re-read Voluntary Simplicity" which hopefully will remind me what it's all about! :D

I took a photo of the outside of the dolls' house to show you all that I have actually finished one task!

  • Where is everyone?

We've slipped down to page 7 and I'd rather be on page 1! I'll never be a page 3 girl myself ;):o:(

  • Wow stitchy! That's amazing! Nothing much to report :o did I mention I finished the Deli Lama? Not sure, I def know I waxed lyrical about it on the daily thread :o:o

I popped in to say in my search to enjoy classical music I came across a station which was doing a show which seemed like it was a sermon at church being broadcast live & I discovered I LOVE choir music! :j (in actual fact listening to some as a type via youtube right now :D)

Not sure if that technically counts...

any way better get my @rse into gear & go for a run (week 2, day 1) was going to blow it out but coming on this thread has reminded me that its something I want to do & it'll be ticked off of my list (La E did you say its 8 weeks of an ongoing goal before you can consider it as achieved?)

anyway better go put my new trainers on ;), see you all later :)
