Yeah , you would be unless you cancel.
When i worked for Vodafone we had a porting department i just directed customers to, so i don't know much about the porting process, if i did i'd help.
sorry.0 -
I just had a letter from Vodafone yesterday saying that they had recently acquired Singlepoint so that from now on they'd be managing my account and sending me bills. You can call them free from your Vodafone mobile on 191. Don't know if this helps but thought I'd post it anyway.Never knowingly overpaid.0

I would to try and see if Vodafone will give it to you for free, its worth a try. If not then you can always port to PAYT. I did this a couple of weeks ago, took about 10 days in total. You have to phone singlepoint and ask for the PAC code, then phone up PAYT registrations. Takes around 5 days to port to them. And then as soon as it has, phone PAYT CS and ask for another PAC code! Should take another 5 days to port to your chosen network.
When you ask Singlepoint for your PAC, try get it over the phone. They told me they would post mine to me, but took 12 days to do that!0 -
Singlepoint is owned by Vodafone.
Vodafone don't generally charge for PAC codes, although their customer service is hit and miss...usually miss....but I requested my PAC code to move to another network and finally received the code by snail mail about two weeks later....snail mail from a Telco company...but try phoning Vodafone's customer service department - 191 then the option for leaving...if you get a good one they might ask you why you want to leave and persuade you to stay....or you'll get one like me that told me my bill was high because of the number of calls I make...not the cost of them ;-)0 -
oh yes forgot to mention, when I moved from Orange to Vodafone, they wanted to charge me £20 I advised them that it wasn't in the contract and they'd never told me about the charge - so they waived it.....now moving back to orange, far superior customer service....good luck with Singlepoint, part of Vodafone....0

Just my tuppence worth on this thread...
Recently, I saw a brand new offer come out on Dialaphone's website which I thought was right up my street so I tried to purchase a Nokia 6670 O2 phone and contract from a fairly big supplier of phones with half price rental for 6 months and double mins for 3 months. Only guess what... they simply do NOT port numbers from T-Mobile or Vodaphone!
How do I know? Well I ordered a phone over their website - but hang on, panic then set in as it didn't ask me for my PAC no. so I called them up and said "How do I keep my number?" They answered basically, "You don't! You get a new no."
Now as I was coming from T-Mobile - I said "Do you think that when I buy a phone from your website or even over the phone, it might be worth you explaining this info? How else are we customers to know this?"
I said thanks, but no thanks - please cancel my order as I have just rung e2save and they have just matched the phone & deal you have except that they will port no.s from ANY network.
e2save then rang me back after approving the deal specially (now on website for all re: O2 Nokia 6670) and explained its because Dialaphone use... surprise surprise, ....SinglePoint whereas e2save don't!
So even if T-Mobile/Vodaphone give you your PAC no. (free or otherwise), it still doesn't mean you get to keep your no. -as outfits like Dialaphone simply won't allow you to Port your no. Hence if using Dialaphone - do NOT pay to get your PAC no. as its worthless (luckily I didn't pay £20 in the first place)0 -
You never pay to get your PAC!
You pay if you use your PAC (ie getting it is free, using it will set you back £20 with Singlepoint)Hardcore moneysaver0 -
Hmm, maybe that's why I was "lucky" not to have paid for my PAC but Dialaphone would not even let me take my no. with me to O2 despite having a (free) PAC code from T-Mobile and yet they use singlepoint. I asked if there was any way I could say pay a fee and keep my no. - it was still "NO!" due to the fact that I came from T-Mobile.
And these people are trying to sell new phones/contracts?0 -
Singlepoint charged me £20 for a PAC code 6 months. I rang Customer Services and told them I had not been advised of any charge. They then waived it immediately, so it may be worth a call. Try 0800 0154891 to avoid the expensive 0870 number.0

Keeping your mobile number with a new phone company
Mobile phone companies allow you to keep the same mobile number if you change to a new provider. Keeping your number is generally free and can take as little as five working days. Your current or potential mobile phone company can tell you more about the process.
