Is this correct that singlepoint can charge £20.00 for a pac code so I can keep my number? is there anyway round this so don't have to pay? or can I go directly to Vodafone to request number transfer? or does my number belong to singlepoint?
a please & thank you is all it takes

Your number does belong to Singlepoint, but I have never heard of anyone being charged for a PAC (porting authorisation code) before. Usually you can either have it if you are out of contract, or not if you are still within it.
Of course, this doesn't mean that *can't* charge you for it.
I've been out of the mobile business for a while now though, so not sure what anyone's up to anymore.
Might be worth giving Ofcom a call to see if they can do it?0 -
just checked and yes definately want £20.00 5 days before the end of contract for pac code con eh! hopefully someone on here have suggestions to get round this,a please & thank you is all it takes :wave:0

Ask the network service provider for the PAC, not your supplier.0

I'm going to have the same problem in about 2 weeks. Its annoying because I didn't know about this when I signed on.
Singlepoint are the only provider to charge for a PAC code.
I'm going to try and argue that I wasn't told about this before I agreed to the contract, and see if that helps, but some how I can't see it working. I've heard some people have ported their number to PAYG first and not being charged that way, but I don't want to wait that long.
I'm wondering that as I ported my to Singlepoint (from Orange) can they still charge me to take it back?
Worst decision I ever made though!!0 -

Singlepoint ARE Vodaphone (They bought them out a couple of years ago)

so unfair though they should tell you at the begining that you could be charged, do you think they would let me transfer it to a vodafone pay as you go and then move it again or would I be in the same boat when trying to move it from the p.a.y.g?a please & thank you is all it takes :wave:0 -

Vodafone is a network provider, Singlepont is just a service provider.
Vodafone's network service mainly provided by Vodafone Direct, which you can have e-billing via Vodafone site, the other one is Singleponint.Spend smart, and save more.0 -

You will not be charged by SInglepoint if you transfer your number to Voda Pay as you Go.
Once you have your PAC code just call Voda on 08080945945 (Free Call)
They will do all the hard work and Singlepoint will not charge you £20!
If you then port from PAYG to another network its FREE (only Singlepoint charge for porting) and PAYG is obviuosly proper Voda.
