T-Mobile wanted to charge me £4.95 for my PAC code 7 days before the end of my contract. So Singlepoint are not the only ones charging for these....

This is because you were still in contract, if you pay up your final invoice then request your PAC with T Mobile you will not get charged.

Singlepoint will charge you in or out of contract regardless.

You will not be charged by SInglepoint if you transfer your number to Voda Pay as you Go.

Once you have your PAC code just call Voda on 08080945945 (Free Call)

They will do all the hard work and Singlepoint will not charge you £20!

If you then port from PAYG to another network its FREE (only Singlepoint charge for porting) and PAYG is obviuosly proper Voda.

    Regards

If I port from Singlepoint to Vodafone PAYG, does anyone know how long I have to stay with them before I can request a PAC?

If they issue me with a PAC to port to PAYG and I use to port to Orange instead will they still charge?

You can request your PAC at anytime once the transfer to PAYG is complete.

To avoid the charge you must complete the transfer to PAYG first. Singlepoint are informed where the PAC terminated and bill you if its not Voda PAYG.

I rang them last week and they said the opposite. £20 for PAC to switch from voda contract to voda PAYG, or I can have it free if I move to another network.

Can tell Im going to have fun when I need to do it for real.

so unfair though they should tell you at the begining that you could be charged

so you read your terms and conditions before signing the contract or blinded by the excitement of a free phone with some free minutes you just said OK?

I am in the same boat now. Singlepoint have just told me that the contract I signed 4 years ago contained a clause which said that they could charge me for admin purposes and its £20. I cross-questioned them, as best as I can, and they wouldn't budge. I have asked them to send me a copy of the contract. :-(

I need to keep the number. Cannot afford to change it. So, it changing to a PAYG is the only option left to me? And then have PAYG for a week or so and then ask to be ported? Can anyone please confirm that is what I need to do??

    Thanks in advance

Singlepoint have just merged with Vodafone , so maybe Vodafone will not charge in the future.

    Doesn't help you though.

No..doesn't help me. As I am still tied to the original contract that I signed 4 years ago.
