Tesco's mp3 download site has now got crossed off my list again as they have raised the price of every track now to 89p. That is a price increase of about 13%.0

Hit them where it hurts, boycott them !
Unless you are are brand junkie try Aldi or Lidl .
I find that although a much smaller selection of brands I can get all I need for a healthy diet plus a few treats and their own brand cleaning products are as good if not better than popular products.
My local Lidl car park is filled with expensive motors so carrying an Aldi or Lidl bag is no longer the sign of being a Chav !

We started going to M&S a few months ago, we saved £40 a week on shopping in Tesco.
We then go to Sainsburys to get the other bits I need for lunch, washing powder, kitchen roll, etc.
In total we save about £80 a month doing this and are not involved in the rugby scrum that is Tesco.0 -
Hi everybody
I have always felt that I need to have complex mathematical models in my head-merely to nab the bargains which are always priced so it's the most inconvenient time to prepare them.
My Tesco is 10 minutes away, whereas my Waitrose is an hours walk away.
At Tesco I have poor fruit and veg performance. This has since been remedied by a loving devotion to Riverford Organics whose boxes and customer service ethos I cannot rate highly enough. My wastage has plummetted and qaulity has soared.
Of the two Waitrose is my favourite. Their Salad bar is great (Tesco's is crap avoid!!) and their Essentials range is good. In light of above comments Waitrose might be seeing rather more of me than Tesco where the Staff are fabulous but the pricing drives you mad.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.
Reading whatever books I want to the rescue!:money::beer[/B

All of them have whacked up their prices this week, as they always do at Christmas.
Biggest shock I had last week was when I went to M&S to order our usual turkey crown - they are brilliant quality but the cost is now £45!!!:eek:
Still, there was a large queue of people ordering them to collect, so I suppose they are charging that knowing that they can still sell them well - they stopped taking further orders shortly after that, as they had run out of the time slots to collect.
LinYou can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -
I generally go to Lidl for most things, and farm food for frozen as they have a bigger selection than Lidl.
Fresh Veg & fruit from local market.
There is no need to turn your nose up at Lidl, they do sell branded goods and a box of Kellogs cornflakes is a box of Kellogs cornflakes where ever you buy it! However Lidl have also started to raise prices, especially on Cheese.
I suppose they have far more clients now since the recession as they can afford TV adverts.
I am also one of those people that work out the cost per unit. This is especially difficult when in Tesco the same product is £/kg, £/g and £/pack between brands.
For kg and g I have to remember to divide by the correct multiple of 10 but per pack?!If freedom is outlawed, only outlaws will have freedom.0 -
When Tesco put up the price of bread flour from 64p to £1.29 I stopped shopping there. They appear to use various pricing techniques to disguise price rises so I voted with my feet and now mostly shop at Lidl. FWIW Lidl's bread flour has been on offer at 50p, usually 60p.
At the same time Tesco petrol is now the most expensive locally, so dont buy there either.0 -
All of the major supermarkets are as bad as each other at this time of year. If the price doesn't go up then the quality and/or quantity goes down.
I shop at Morrisons and my son loves their chicken goujons. There has always been 10 in each pack, when I bought them a couple of weeks ago, there were only 9 in there! (for the same price, obviously)"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -
