They usually hike prices up before announcing major price "reductions". It usually results in a product that was £1 being charged at say £1.05 whilst being described as a price reduction.0

I used to shop at Tesco but now I use Lydl, Aldi, and Morrisons and my shopping bill has come right down with no loss of quality in fact on some items an increase in quality.Low Carb High Fat is the way forward I lost 80 lbs
Since first using Martins I have saved thousands0 -
My weekly Tesco shop has gone up by about 30% since this time last year, and we are buying a cheaper brand on most things. Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0

Their prices on Pimms amuse me, they had their 1l bottles on special offer at £15 but the 700cl were on at "normal" price at £10 a couple of weeks ago. (If you hard of thinking it means it cheaper per overall litre to buy the £10 bottle).
Yes - but the 700cl bottle may have been too small for the customer's needs and/or they only had £15 in their purse /walletHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Not just Tesco but probably all the supermarkets.
I noticed the price of margarine go through the roof. It used to be around 40p for 500g now around 2 years later it seems like £1 is the norm.
The price of crumpets has also doubled over the same period.0 -

re the margarine yes its the norm, other things have gone up so it makes sense cost of food goes up
when i say other things i mean the cost of living for the staff at the factory/s that make the margarine0 -
I used to buy 90% of my shopping at tescos but over the last few months i have also noticed items going up in price. We have 3 frozen food stores on the shopping center and i have started going around them, Farmfoods have some great deals plus £2.50 of a £25 shop. We went there and got lots for our money and stocked the freezer up and saved £2.50. I tend to plan the meals for the weeks ahead and stock up on the stuff needed that way i only buy what i need.Jan Wins: .0

I think the biggest con they pull is the "Spend £50 get 5p off a Litre of petrol " offer !
Our local always puts up the price of petrol a couple of days before the offer starts !
So much for save 5p a litre !A Bast**d I May Be ! I Was Born One !
Whats Your Excuse ?0 -
Haven't noticed Tesco as I don't regularly shop there, but I did notice the price of some of Asda's meat had gone through the roof recently, especially beef mince.
And whats the deal with corned beef? The price is ridiculous!0
