The Wii is effectivly 2 consoles in one, a gamecube and a Wii !! You will probably find the below link very helpful....

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii#Backward_compatibility

The only really relevant thing that a GameCube can do that a Wii can't is use the GameBoy Player attachment.

not opened mine yet as it is a pressie for boy but it takes an sd memory card so your old gamecube one will not work, as for games all old gamecube games can be played on the wii, hope this helps

Sorry, had to correct you. There are slots for 4 Gamecube controllers and 2 Gamecube memory card in the top (if standing up) compartments. Gamecube memory cards for Gamecube game saves i guess...

Well i must admit that i am totally p1ssed of that i could not get a Wii for my 10 year old son, yet there are people on this board bragging that they have made an extortionate profit from pre-ordering it.
I thought this was a money saving web site, not a money making web site.

I hope you stop and think about my boy`s face on Christmas morning when he opens his presents and finds that the Wii console he asked Father Christmas for is not going to be there because i cannot afford your rip off prices

I don't see how people who have got one are to blame.

Maybe you should have pre-ordered a console if he really really wants one.

Reading my post again i never made my point clear.

I was talking about the people who have bought the console to make a profit out of it, and not who are actually going to use it.

I am not saying that people who have bought one for personal use are to blame.
What i am saying is this is a money saving site and people are bragging how much money they have made from re-selling the console that they have bought for profit, and not for use..

I was not in a position to buy the Wii at the time pre-orders were being taken.
But i am sure that if GENUINE buyers were the only people buying then i would most likely have one now.

There were ways of getting one without even preordering, we got ours at 8 this morning by queueing at our local Asda.

I do feel for those who had preordered and have been let down, hopefully there will be more about by Xmas.
