I don't see how people who have got one are to blame.

Maybe you should have pre-ordered a console if he really really wants one.

Reading my post again i never made my point clear.

I was talking about the people who have bought the console to make a profit out of it, and not who are actually going to use it.

I am not saying that people who have bought one for personal use are to blame.
What i am saying is this is a money saving site and people are bragging how much money they have made from re-selling the console that they have bought for profit, and not for use..

I was not in a position to buy the Wii at the time pre-orders were being taken.
But i am sure that if GENUINE buyers were the only people buying then i would most likely have one now.

Well i must admit that i am totally p1ssed of that i could not get a Wii for my 10 year old son, yet there are people on this board bragging that they have made an extortionate profit from pre-ordering it.
I thought this was a money saving web site, not a money making web site.

I hope you stop and think about my boy`s face on Christmas morning when he opens his presents and finds that the Wii console he asked Father Christmas for is not going to be there because i cannot afford your rip off prices

I too am hacked off at not getting one but at the end of the day all's fair in love and war, those people who got extra ones went to the effort of getting them and that initiative has paid off on ebay etc. It's not the people who are selling them on ebays fault, it's nintendo for not supplying enough in the first place for everyone and the buyers who are stupidly buying the consoles at rip-off prices on ebay.

I wouldn't worry too much as there's a good chance that you'll get one before xmas if you believe what my local Woolworths and games shops are saying. They told me on launch day that the market would be flooded with Wii's in 2 weeks time. Not sure how true this is but I really don't think we're gonna have the same kind of issues as with the 360 last year. One of the game shops told me they'd fulfilled all pre-orders so any stock that comes in next week was going on sale on a first come first served basis...

    Good luck :)

P.S: I didn't pre-order but I'm confident that I'll get one for my four year old (And ME and the missus!!!) before xmas

It's bad I know but - even though, earlier I said I wouldn't bother getting a Wii, I was persuaded to queue up at the local ASDA.. for four hours on that cold floor (verrryyyy chillllyyyy). Got one. REALLY tired now - but still haven't had time to open it. It's here, by my side, and seriously, I'm stuck!

Open it up like a raving loony and check out what they have to offer.

    OR

Stick it on the usual, Ebay and earn a swift £200 profit... (now that's good money "sense").

...torn! (although I do repeat, I know it's not a nice thing to do!!)

please do the sensible thing and play the damn thing. The joy it'll bring will far outstrip the monetary pleasures that ebaying it will fling your way.

I envy you having one, so rather than exploiting envy, be proud that you have one and use it for what it's good for.

    or..........

you could sell it to me for the price you paid, plus postage costs and make a 5 and 3/4 yr old very happy ;) (who, incidentally, is getting his tonsils out next Tuesday if that helps... seeing as there are other posters who are playing the ADHD/disability/illness card as their excuse :rotfl:)

I used to work in game so I know just how desperate people get when a new console comes out. I've never every been able to understand people paying silly amounts on ebay etc for the newest unit though.

If I had just spent 4 hours in the cold of winter, depriving myself of rest, queuing to buy a console just to double my money I would have to take a look at what I valued in life. Life is short, and pursuing money for the sake of it and missing out on life experiences and pleasures just to obtain it seems pointless to me.

Now, if you had bought two, that would have been the smarter thing to do.
