Now thats exactly what I should have done! - if I could have had 2..or course (damn 1 per customer, whats that all about! lol)

I should have gone with OH to Asda but I didn't think he'd get 1 let alone if we both went getting 2. I'll be honest if we'd have got 2 I'd have probably ebayed the spare to pay for both.

I can't understand why if people really wanted one they didn't pre order one at a few shops like i did. They must of known how bad it was going to be and there's always safety in numbers.I got my first from GAME left it with my OH in the car while i got my 2nd from woolworths.I could of had a 3rd or 4th but seeing some kids in the que's at other stores with their mums and dads etc i walked along looking for who in my eyes looked as if they would enjoy and appreciate my gesture the most etc,had a word with their parents and sold my voucher to them for £10,so they could get one.The look on some peoples faces was nearly enough for me to say SOD YOU THEN.The 2nd shop i went too,if i could of had a video camera with me i would of least got £250 off you've been framed for the look on the first adults face after refusing my offer and the 2nd adult gave me the £10 and collected their Wii.People should really plan ahead if they want something that bad.It is them that cause the hype around items like this, which in turn makes people want something that they don't actually want or can get a short time after. Why blame other people for cashing in on other peoples inpatience???

The manager at HMV said to me - "I don't understand why people are surprised that this console has sold out. A new console - the first in a year - the first Nintendo console in ages - released 3 weeks before Christmas. No demand??"

I Can't Understand Why This Hasn't Been Closed Or Moved By Now ??

The Wii Is Out, There's No More Pre-ordering And All Ppl Seem To Be Talking About Is Either How They're Selling It, Playing It Or Slagging Others Off For Getting It/not Getting It..

Come On Ppl Either Get Back To Subject And Help Ppl Find A Console If They Were Unlucky In Getting One Or Close The Thread..

Im still on the hunt for one for my LO for christmas. Think bit late for ASDA now tho :-(
  • You can be sure that Nintendo has thousands if not millions of the consoles stacked away in warehouses throughout the country.

At the moment, they are cashing in on the scarcity factor so that people who weren't even interested see it on the news and wonder whats so good about it.
Its a lot better press for them to be to advertise something as sold out seconds after it launched rather than having a good launch but with a lot of surplus stock.

Considering the Wii appeals mainly to children it would be foolish to not be able to meet demand before Christmas. Everyone knows that given a choice between something NOW (or on Xmas Day) or given something "in a few months, maybe, whenever they have it in", they will almost always choose NOW. To avoid the Wii being substituted with alternative gifts and greatly losing on sales Nintendo will dispatch A LOT of consoles and shop assistants will be begging you to buy them.

Reading my post again i never made my point clear.

I was talking about the people who have bought the console to make a profit out of it, and not who are actually going to use it.

I am not saying that people who have bought one for personal use are to blame.
What i am saying is this is a money saving site and people are bragging how much money they have made from re-selling the console that they have bought for profit, and not for use..

I was not in a position to buy the Wii at the time pre-orders were being taken.
But i am sure that if GENUINE buyers were the only people buying then i would most likely have one now.

Surely you must have known when you could pre-order that you would want to buy one for Xmas so why couldn't you pay the £20 at Game like alot of us did to get one?
It's not like you had to pay for it in full.
