Ok this has never happened to me before, went to Tesco's to purchase lunch (not v DFW I know but left lunch at home and ravenous)
Anywho total came to £2.56 I paid the lady £2.60 and she handed me the recipt witout any change

Me "I gave you £2.60"
Her "its 4p" dripping with sarcasm :rolleyes:
Me "Yes and I'd like it please"

She handed over my two coppers and I walked out with a smile on my face !!

What just happened ???? for 4 pence ! this from the girl who used to throw coppers away !!! :rotfl:

All I can say is thank you very much as those two shiny coppers will take up residence in my money jar and will eventually be thown at my debt ! :beer:

    Well I think that cashier was lucky I was not the customer she just did that to! I would not have taken kindly to it. It's not the amount that matters, it's the principle. Why should Mr Tesco have my hard earnt dosh for nothing? :mad:

    I'd put a complaint in to Tesco! That is an absolute liberty! That is your money that you work bloody hard to earn. If that cashier did that to say 500 customers a day she could be making a dodgy £20 a day! :think:

    4p or £4.00 - the cashier was definitely out of order.

    What a cheek, definately complain. It would've been a different story if you'd offered £2.52 and said "Only 4p short"

    OMG!! :eek: I cannot believe that they tried to do that!!!!!!!!! I'd write a letter of complaint and send them a copy of the receipt as they will be able to trace the cashier from that!! If they tried to do it to you then they've probably done it before!! On an aside!! Well done on not throwing away coppers!!! :naughty: money is money!!! Pennies make pounds!!! :p

    definitely! if Tescos got just 4p extra out of EVERY customer they had, it would make a fair bit of spare change! look at it that way. It's your 4p so keep it that way lol ;)
