And aside from the food aspect, have any of you actually tried proper free range eggs?

I have and to be honest couldn't really tell much difference. In fact in blind taste testing surveys i've seen between free range and non-free range chicken neither has anyone else.

For goodness sake - and at the risk of getting flamed - has anyone bothered to read the OP? The post DELIBERATELY said that this was not to be a "... debate about the rights and wrongs of my convenience food of choice. That's for another time and place."

If you feel strongly about the conditions - open up another thread. This post was discussing a possible change in their food offering policy.

For the record I do not agree with battery hens - but this is NOT the thread to be discussing this on.

Apologies to the OP. I asked a question of a comment made on this thread but a certain poster decided to become abusive. Looking at his previous posts, it looks like his main aim is to disrupt threads, particulary by picking on typos or grammatical errors. Unfortunately for him, he got his criticism wrong this time. I suspect it would have been best not to respond to his silly remarks. In the interests of the OP, I will leave it at that.

It is a long time since I have eaten at KFC so I can't comment on whether the quality has changed.

I had a KFC the other week and didnt notice any difference, i love KFC its one of my favourites dont eat much fast food but when i do its KFC, hmmm its making me hungry now might have bargain bucket for our tea:D

One observation i have is they have 2 versions of the gravy, 1 is made from the fat and bits from the bottom of the trays and tastes lovely, and the other is made from a gravy mix with no added fat and bits and tastes rank, not many serve the 2nd version i know Skeggy does.

I suppose though it is fair to say that Colonel Sanders is the Heinrich Himmler equivalent to chickens.

Is that real Free Range eggs, or what the supermarkets call Free Range eggs?

Well they were from a farm shop laid from their noisy free range farm yard chickens. The only difference I could tell from their supermarket relatives was they cost a lot more.
  • I refuse to go to KFC anymore. The quality has definitely suffered in the last year or so. Not just at one particular restaurant, but at many I have tried (I travel in my job.

The final straw was when I actually complained to KFC direct. I had bought two kids meals and a normal 2 peice meal - alll of which went in the bin - absolutely crap and manager did not care!

I received a standard reply from KFC with no gesture/refund for my troubles.

If they care so little for their clients - sod em!!!!

I feel quite sorry for the people that have to work in KFC, it must be awful, especially when you think most of them are foreigners and how bad it must be in their homeland to have travel to the other side of the world to just work in a KFC!

Having said that, once they get here, they could at least make the effort of keeping their corporate KFC polo shirts clean and avoid wearing dirty sweaty ones with congealed fat down the front. Mmmmm...very appetising!

    On topic...

They do use breast in the pieces meals, and you should get a breast and a something else, either a wing or a leg.

If you buy a bigger meal, then sometimes you get two breasts, but the four piece meal is too much meat for me!

I always ask - can I have a breast and a leg please? - and smile sweetly. Usually they are happy to do it. But I don;t really mind a wing, I just want one of the pieces to be a breast as that's what it's supposed to be, so I was told by the staff at the one near paddington.

If you ask they don;t usually say no.

  • I complained to their head office on line as they never give the clean up tissues or napkins with the order. They were supposed to be re trained, obviously in not giving clean up tissues etc. I don't use them any more gave up with them.
