A good moan about KFC.....

Now don't turn this into a debate about the rights and wrongs of my convenience food of choice. That's for another time and place.
What this is about is a drastic reduction in the quality of the chicken these guys now serve up.
Not so long ago you bought a 2 piece meal and got a breast and a leg in your box of delights.
On the last four occasions I have been now, all at different outlets, I have received a scrawny breast and a wing or poxy thigh (I hope!) instead of a leg. Some of them have only barely resembled chicken parts as I know them.
The first couple of times this happened I passed it off as a bad experience as KFC can be notoriously inconsistant. However, as I've said above its now happened on all four occasions over the summer. From 4 different outlets at different times of the day. I'm beginning to beleive that rather than face a price hike, they have simply started to serve up cheaper, smaller chicken pieces. If this is the case complaining to the manager would be pointless.
Has anybody else had similar experiences and does anybody else care ?

The poor chickens who endure a life worse than living death certainly care. If it's that bad - STOP GOING.
Make your own toxic fatty foodstuffs from ethical sources. That would be moneysaving. The word is BOUGHT, not BROUGHT.
It's LOSE, NOT LOOSE.
You ask for ADVICE not ADVISE.0 -
Its not breast served in the chicken pieces meal. They use the breast for the sandwich meals.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

I have to say that I really enjoy the food that I do get from KFC, havent been for ages though. The chicken and everything tastes much better and more real somehow than the other fast food places like McDonalds.
Last time I went to KFC was one in the Liverpool area a year or so back and it was terrible. The bins were overflowing and they had only one drink - asked for one and they said we dont have any left, asked for another and that was the same, and the next - in the end I had to ask what they did have!
Guess that they will be maxmising their profits in putting smaller pieces of chicken etc in the meals.
Mmm my mouth is watering now just from thinking about it!Weight Loss - 102lb0 -

I am SO glad you posted this! I was going to post the same thing myself.
KFC is a disgrace (as is bernard matthews) and if you condone their behaviour by shopping from them- you have no sympathy from me!0 -
theres better places out there where you can buy food, if its for your lunch while your at work get a sandwhich, or like where i live you can get baked jacket potatoes and they are nice,No Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20

Cheep meat is really an outrage and chicken is the worst of the cheap meats. I rent a garage on a farm next to a chicken slaughterhouse. They really are wretched scrawny manky things when they come in.Happy chappy0 -
I saw that too! It wasn't very nice to watch and put me right off chicken0

if you do go you can ask for breast in the piece meals you get - you may not always get them but ask and you mostly do0

Despite my request this thread has gone exactly where I feared/knew it would.
I know its filth and every visit is a battle with my conscience, but when they get it right it just tastes too fekkin good.
Yes I am well aware what goes on in chicken sheds, and for that matter cow sheds also.
Despite what you might like to believe there aint a regular poster on here who's life choices could withstand serious interigation from one direction or another.
So can we please stop being so self righteous and either discuss or drop this issue.0 -

Who the hell are you thinking you can tell people where and where not to eat?
Who cares whether the source is un-ethical. If the food is nice (as KFC is), I will eat there as much as I feel like.
In fact, just because of your comment, I am going to eat a nice KFC tomorrow night. God I love those chickens for the tasty food they give me.
If you actually read the original post, the poster asked for this NOT to be a debate into the rights or wrongs of such food.0
