True. Cheapest in my neck of the woods is more like £800 / month for a studio....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

The flat I'm currently renting is being advertised at the moment as I'm moving out: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-to-rent/property-27080419.html?backListLink=/property-to-rent/map.html%3FlocationIdentifier%3DREGION%255E274%26insId%3D1%23_includeLetAgreed%3Don%26houseFlatShare%3Dfalse%26locationIdentifier%3DREGION%255E274%26previousSearchLocation%3DCambridge%26radius%3D0.0%26searchLocation%3DCambridge%26searchType%3DRENT%26useLocationIdentifier%3Dfalse%26box%3D0.12338,0.15209,52.20253,52.21458%26popupPropertyId%3D27080419%26mapType%3DMap&fromMap=true

You get lots of info on this house:
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-to-rent/property-16278720.html
but it's £3,500 a week to rent.
A lot on this one, too, but £2,500 a week:
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-to-rent/property-15003306.html
But you do get floorplans here on more basic 3 bed flats:

Well you might get a flat like that in some dodgy part of Dundee but in the rest of Scotland you'd need at least £400 for a studio flat...:D0 -

The trouble is, LHA's made rents at the bottom of the market too pricey for single workers.
The rents are high here and I've lost count of the amount of outright dismissals I've had if you mention LHA top ups.
There was a flat I lived in where the lettings agents were happy with full HB (as was) because the place was so revolting they knew no one would pay actual money from their own pocket for it. I was on HB at the time after a very nasty relationship breakdown.
It was £560 for a 2 bed, more than £100 a month less than the going rate, had a 'bit of damp' that turned out to be mould that grew floor to ceiling on every external wall (and some fully internal walls), all over the carpets and up my furniture, if you put something away in a drawer for more than a week it would be mouldy _pale_
So the LHA wasn't entirely a bad thing, it stops children having to live in those conditions!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

that's theoretically a £2.5 million grade 2 listed place - know what you mean, though!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
