You don't need a hard copy as it's an electronic document. Believe me, if you hadn't had an ESTA, which they can see on their computer screens, you wouldn't have been able to enter the country.
As it stands, you won't even be allowed to board the flight as they can see at check in if you have an ESTA or not.
I applied for mine last October & I understand it's valid for 2 years. For my reassurance how can I check it's still valid?0 -
thought worthwhile just to repeat the right website http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/id_visa/esta/Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0

It's valid for 2 years...if you have the confirmation number, you could use the update or check status part of the ESTA application website.
But since they are bringing the fees in shortly, just reapply and get a new 2-year window to play with.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Another reason not to go to the USA. Lets hope EU Governments introduce a similar surcharge for Yanks coming to Europe.0

Just updated mine so I am good for another 2 years until I have to pay.0

Weird - updated mine today - thanks for the reminder! However, it said mine needed to be checked:Your travel authorization is under review because an immediate determination could not be made for your application. This response does not indicate negative findings. A determination will be available within 72 hours. Please return to this Web site and choose Update or Check the Status of a Previously Submitted Authorization to Travel to the United States. Your application number, passport number, and birth date will be required to check the status of your application.
When I last applied it sailed straight through. Didn't put any travel details as I am not planning on going there soon so maybe that's why. Last time I was there I certainly gave my visa-waiver form back on boarding the flight. Oh well, I shouldn't have anything to worry about, just surprised me!0 -

I got this message too.0 -
Quick question about the form.
On the "First (Given) Name" it asks for "first (given) name as the first name appears on your passport under the First or Given Name field". My first name on my passport appears as "First Name Middle Name". But the form then says "Do not include the middle name in this field." Am I correct in thinking that I just put "First Name", even though my middle name appears as a first name on my passport?0 -
Just the one (first) name and family name.0

Yeah fine, if ESTA replaces the I-94 but it doesn't; it replicates it. The big difference is that should you DARE to make a mistake on the green form, you'll be sent to the back of a three hour queue at JFK to complete a new one. The US immigration people also demand a number of the street on which your hotel is placed. Last trip, all I had was a street/avenue address - West 55th at 7th. Not good enough.
So I told them 'a million'. That seems good enough. As long as they have a number, they're OK.
Land Of The Free; bring it on!
Have you seen that happen.
I have seen people who have made mistakes on their green form being allowed to correct it/redo it at the desk, both at LAS and LAX0
