Thanks Saving. Don't feel too bad- just that feeling of being a bit under the weather. I just need to take it as easy as I can for a while!

Had another chat with OH yesterday about how we'll meet our target. I'm starting to get a better idea of what I need to do! We're looking at around £2100 for mortgage and bills. We're aiming to put about £2000 extra into the offset each month. Now I just need to figure out exactly how much that leaves for other expenses. If we're going to do this I need to work really hard at keeping the wedding costs down. It will mean being very careful with groceries and personal spending. At least I have a bit more of a grasp of what I need to do. Up until the wedding it will probably be back to DFW lifestyle. Hopefully after the wedding we'll have a little treat money every month! I'm fully aware that we need to sustain this for 5 years to meet target and if it's too harsh I will end up giving up and splurging when I get fed up if I'm not careful!

Just ordered magazine subscriptions using Tesco points. Am on track to all my Christmas gifts being money neutral.
Plan is to have all my gifts and cards money neutral next year.

    Hi Jellie,

Just caught up on the last few pages of your diary. Glad the wedding plans are going well. We were very aware of not spending much money when we got married but missed out on having a lot of people there. Looking back I wish we had invited the people we wanted to share the day with rather than the people we thought we should.

Thanks- we're trying to make sure we invite everyone we want. Although it makes the biggest difference in terms of expense we are both prepared to pay out more for the food etc. and try and cut costs on other things!

We're lucky at the moment that we are both earning a decent wage- although not so lucky as we have the huge mortgage to match due to prices round here! However, we can't be certain that these wages will last hence the push to do everything we can while we can. We're prepared to live very frugally as there is a possibility of having to survive on less money in the future. Even if OH keeps his job once he has retrained his pay will drop quite a lot for a few years.

I think it takes 4-6 weeks but it might vary from magazine to magazine. I'm thinking to send the actual subscription bit off about a month before Christmas.

Another NSD but need to get a housewarming gift. Not sure how I'm going to make it money neutral!
