It's really difficult finding time to garden and when you get the time the grass is often too wet! We're getting a decent mower at the weekend which will help. Will try mowing with blades high to see if it really does pick up leaves like they said on gardener's world! We have a great garden but there is lots to do! Our neighbours are retired and their garden is always immaculate and full of year round interest. I reckon we might just about get there by the time we retire!
My neighbours one side are retired and he loved his garden but now he has trouble with it, he only has pots about now but I bet he hates looking over at my garden with two feet high grass!
The neighbours the other side are proper gardeners, they are always out there with their veg plot and all their fancy plants and things. Its a lovely garden but I just would never have the time! (or inclination sometimes!)MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

My retired neighbours have a gorgeous garden, but it is only since i am at home all day that i realise how many hours they invest in keeping it this way. They too are downgrading it a bit into more easily managed stuff now. Shame really.
We could never hope to compete with that level of dedication. I imagine even when the kids go to school i will still find it hard to keep on top of. Whether at work or home, there is always so much to do.0 -
It's very much like housework. You feel all pleased when you've dedicated some time to it but within a couple of weeks it all needs doing again!
I must admit that when I have the chance to do it properly I enjoy gardening more! Michelle you are so right- even when I have more time I just seem to be busy doing different things!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -

I absolutley love my garden but with everything else I just dont have time, so this winter, most of the grass is going, re fencing and taking up nearly all the shrubs etc. Sad but I dont have time to sit out in the garden when its nice as there's always something to pull up!MFW 2011 No. 161 £946.54/£2000 TargetApril 9/15

Looks like I won't be doing any housework or gardening for another week. School is being inspected next week- I haven't caught up from being off sick and am still feeling pretty rubbish.will be a fun week- parents evening, open morning, normal work, catching up and inspection! I guess I won't be spending much!
Have worked hard today so am going to forget about work and relax with a novel for the evening!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -

Ok- major surprise from Oh today. He's worried about losing his job at the moment. He wants us to try and pay off the mortgage in 5 years- gulp! Time for some major budgeting and challenges!
He's succeeded in distracting me from the inspection!!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0
