The instore leaflet says ,telephones, amongst other things under the "Phones and accessories" department which is the voucher you would need.

An instore Tesco Direct desk is just that; a place to order rather than online, a place to collect ordered items if you wish to save the delivery charge, but no held stock. Check item availablility with the desk before changing your CC vouchers, and make sure you tell the CSA who does the double up you want online vouchers to spend on Tesco Direct NOT instore vouchers.

I exchanged £30 of vouchers for clothing instore. Got the kids their trainers for p.e and a load of reduced stuff for them. Had also found a pair of Sleeping Beauty slippers for my grandaughter reduced from about £7ish to £2.25. When the lad at the clothing till put them through they came up at 1p so he said he couldn't sell me them. He then checked with another cs lady and she agreed and said she would have to go and take them off sale. A bit cheesed off about that but all in all delighted with my 3 bags of clothes and shoes, which only cost me £3! :j Still have £45 of vouchers left but can't see anything else I need at the moment.

I am extremely happy with Tesco purchase - but nearly made a mess of it due to the two different types of rewards vouchers - CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!

I had loads of Tesco vouchers saved up (normally spend at Xmas, or get mag subscriptions and days out with them). Anyway, I went in to local superstore and asked to exchange my £140 Tesco vouchers for £280 worth of Rewards vouchers (grinning to myself like I'd won the lottery). I wanted a Samsung Wave Payg phone for £279.

I promply went to the mobile section and, disappointedly, they didn't have one in stock. Not to worry, I thought, I'd go home and order online (it clearly stated that you could do that in adverts). Great it was in stock, but when I came to paying, there were no relevant codes to type in (tried the 'serial number' and 'bar code' - yes I was that desperate!).

Right, I thought, I'd go back to Tesco, order in there and pay with the bloomin vouchers. However, the saleswoman announced that we couldn't use them because they were 'in store' vouchers and Tesco direct was 'online'.

I marched to customer services who agreed and said they couldn't exchange the vouchers for online ones - they were terribly sorry. I said I was MORE THAN TERRIBLY SORRY because I had handed over the bloomin stash, they hadn't explained there were two types of vouchers and I really wanted to order my phone.

Eventually, after much faffing (?) around with a manager, they agreed to swap my unfortunate in store vouchers with cash (?) which they prompty gave to the Tesco direct woman, who then ordered my phone. It is due in Friday pm. Hopefully it will turn up.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHICH TYPE OF REWARDS TOKEN YOU ASK FOR!
  • I went to Tescos today as we were after a dining room table and chairs - we had seen one we liked in the catalogue for £125. I checked first at customer services and she told me to go to the Tesco Direct kiosk. Long story short the lady was really helpful. First she checked it was in stock, then exchanged my £50 of vouchers for £100, so all i paid was £29.99 (as £5 delivery). My table will be here on Saturday!! Well chuffed!!

    Yes........

Thank Harz, what are the dots for? Am I being a nuisance again? :p

I was concerned about getting the online vouchers then finding out when I got home that the item had gone out of stock. I think I am just going to have to buy anything I want instore that way I can control the whole voucher exchange thing.:)
  • I've just ordered Lego for my sons birthday next week. Used £20 of vouchers doubled up to £40 for the Lego. Had a wee bit of trouble getting them exchanged - new Tesco store so the staff didn't seem very clued up but got them eventually and ordered today. He'll be very happy and so am I! :j
