i didnt realise you need permission... i suppose they (the council)wont find out and I am sure everone buries their animal in the garden.

I am sure the neighbours might tell the council and then they will find out.

And no not everyone buries their animals in the garden (dead or not)

No-one I know has ever buried their dog in the garden - I'm sure most people have them cremated. Any neighbours likely to phone up the council when they see what's going on?

I have to say I would have let them bury it, but not if demolishing the pond is necessary (assuming they succeed!). If they haven't even done a survey yet the sale isn't far proceeded, so you might end up with the ugly task of arguing over the damage/corpse. I don't think that proving they did it will be any help, since there is no agreement about what will happen should they not buy the house.

I did find a picture on the net that I did find disconcerting - passing the time until the pond drains.

Hi all, saw thread title and wondered if you can help, haven't read thread yet so excuse me if I am a bit muddled.

You see I'm very upset we've just today found out that Fluffy our great dane has passed away.

    Pic of Fluffy here

We're in the middle of trying to buy a house from a very lovely person and I really want Fluffy to be buried there.....trouble is we haven't completed.

In my demented grief I drove round with Fluffy

    Pic here

and a fork not really thinking it through, I couldn't bear to see Fluffy's sleeping face so I placed over it the only thing I could find that would fit.

    Pic here

The lovely person who we intend to buy a house from answered the door dressed like this.

    Pic here

However through my tears I managed to explain that I wanted Fluffy buried in the house we haven't bought yet...they explained that it might be ok...but they have some koi carp to rehome.

    Pic here

I wondered if you think I'm being cheeky by asking the lovely seller this request or should I wait to exchange?

You need a black zippered body bag for the Dog just for added frisson when the Neighbours start curtain twitching!
