Put the koi on Freecycle, or ask on the Old Style board for a recipe:)
One day I'll tell you story of me, a dead St. Bernard and the hunt for a big enough freezer .........Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0 -

I am going to let them bury the dog as hopefully this will seal the deal. I have called the local garden centre and they will come and collect the Koi - well someone will come after they are shut at 8pm so I will have to put them in the bath until then as I have told the buyer they can come by at 7pm. The buyer was ever so grateful and I feel like I have done something helpful today. I told them about the concrete under the pond and they are bringing over a hammer and chisel.
Quite a day. I wish it was the postman at the door.
Be hoped the sale all goes through now! Are they bringing over some topsoil or will you have to sit and look out at the dog for a while? I can imagine it'll be pretty messy to take apart a pond. I'd still be interested to know what their plan was last night when they turned up with the dog and expected you to move your fish. I'd ask them to come over later, or tomorrow, rather than moving the fish into the bath for an hour and then moving them again.0 -

I mean lets say the survey comes back horrible and they want a discount, but i wont give it to them, what next?

Make the agree in writing that the remains are irrevocably part of the garden of your property and that if they want to retreive them at any point they have to own the garden!Adventure before Dementia!0

Hammer and chisel!!! :eek::eek:
When I took my pond out last year, I ended up with an industrial kango jack hammer thing & jenny, and a very nice 25 - 30 year old man :j:jfrom one of my contractors to do the job and then it still took him 3 or 4 days, and he was 'fit'after I had spent a week messing around with a sledge hammer!!
I hope you know what you are doing allowing them to do this, what has your solicitor said??Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

What if they can't get a mortgage if something changes, or their buyer falls through etc? But if they're so dedicated to their dog, you'd think they'd be worrying what if you don't go through with it or if you bump the price up.
Get some sneaky photos of them doing the work in case you need it at a later stage.0 -

It'll be an all night job then, do they expect you to help? I think I'd conveniently develop a bad back just for this evening.:hello:0 -
The buyers OH is a builder so i think he will have thought of it (TOPSOIL). Now I am thinking about this, it is a bit rude to assume I would turn over my pond to them on a whim this morning but anyway the Koi live another day.
There are some days you can never imagine that within 24 hours someone's dog will be nestled in your garden. Roll on 7pm and hopefully they will be done quickly.
Do you think i should drain the pond now? I assume get a piece of hose and suck the end and let it run out?0
