Hi all, saw thread title and wondered if you can help, haven't read thread yet so excuse me if I am a bit muddled.
You see I'm very upset we've just today found out that Fluffy our great dane has passed away.
Pic of Fluffy here
We're in the middle of trying to buy a house from a very lovely person and I really want Fluffy to be buried there.....trouble is we haven't completed.
In my demented grief I drove round with Fluffy

and a fork not really thinking it through, I couldn't bear to see Fluffy's sleeping face so I placed over it the only thing I could find that would fit.
Pic here
The lovely person who we intend to buy a house from answered the door dressed like this.

However through my tears I managed to explain that I wanted Fluffy buried in the house we haven't bought yet...they explained that it might be ok...but they have some koi carp to rehome.
Pic here
I wondered if you think I'm being cheeky by asking the lovely seller this request or should I wait to exchange?

Memo to henpecked1: I think you should change your username to "dogpecked1".Don't make old people mad. We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to p*** us off.2

A quick queston about etiquete as I have not had someone round at dinnertime to bury their dog before.
Do I offer to help them? We normally sit down and have dinner around 7 ish. Tonight is fish and chip night.. do you think I ought to ask them if they want anything from the chippie or should i just show them through to the garden (as we dont have side access so entry through the living room) and let them get on with it.0 -

this site has an interesting comment on pet burial...
Pets
In general terms a pet owner can bury his pet in the garden of the domestic property where the pet lived so long as it is not within the definition of hazardous waste. If in doubt enquire of the local authority.
sounds like it might be worth checking with your council before they go ahead given that it is a big animal and a tiny garden.0 -

Yep horses have to be 5 metres down which is why they usually end up at the knackers yard.0 -

Surely they have to prove the pet didnt live there. How many people have Tesco Bags for Life?
Poor joke and poor situation but red tape! grr.0 -
A £10k non refunadable payment of offset on completion should keep them interested.
Once the dog is in the garden you could put the price up:D0
