Wow - you are really on a roll here:beer:.

In your original SOA you say you haven't had an electricity bill for a while. Could you ask for a reading and perhaps cut a few pounds from what you pay monthly?

My actual usage tends to vary quite a lot and every so often I get money back from British Gas. For me it's a good way of saving a few pounds as it would have dribbled away in my pocket.

  • My electricity use is very high, 4 computers, every games console known to man, 3 kids, every kind of electrical gadget going including kitchen gadgets, electric oven, washing machine and tumble dryer (no clothes airer may have to invest) thats on at least 3 times a day!!! I am going to keep paying the £100 a month to see how I get on. Would love to change supplier but this just isnt possible at the moment. On the plus side my Direct debit to welsh water has gone down to £19 a month and I am £94 in credit.....Can I claim this money back? Phone bill was high this month because changed supplier so BT charged me £77 for leaving them early. I would love to get rid of BT altogether but need them for my broadband as other companies arent available round here (out in the sticks) and the ones that are available have limited download where as with bt its unlimited.

  • Been pottering about all afternoon and managed to get quite afew things done from my list. Tonight I am going to take photos of some things I need to put on ebay and may as well list them whilst im at it.

Dinners ready so just need to wash the pots.

Have made enough Shepherds pie to make an additional 7 portions (have made into individual ones so will freeze those once they have cooled down). Surprising how far 500g of mince goes once you bulk it out with veggies, lentils and porridge oats!!!.

I'm curious about your electricity bill, it does seem pretty high. You say its not possible to change supplier at the moment, are you in arrears with your current supplier? If not you should certainly have a look on the comparison sites, go through Quidco and they will even pay you to switch!!
    http://www.quidco.com/utilities/gas-electricity/

or speak to your supplier and say you are going to switch, you'd be amazed how quickly they find you a great deal!! I did this on friday and saved £280 a year:beer:

Also, do you have a garden or yard? Invest in a clothes line. I hate to think how much I save when the weather is fine by not having the tumble going:eek:. I have an airer too and use that as much as possible in more miserable weather.

You're doing brilliantly with the groceries, well done and keep it up xxxx

    Hi Sofababe,
im in arrears with my electric so paying £100 a month, they did initially want £136 but I couldnt commit to that.

I have got a clothes line in the garden but the weather has been pants so the dryer has been on constantly!!! I will invest in an airer for indoors I need to get this electric bill cleared!!!

Definitely get an airer! I've got no outside space but hardly ever use the dryer because the airer works so well.

For larger items like sheets, I usually hang them over a door (you might want to wipe over the top of the door before you do this for the first time!)

I'm loving your crossed off to do lists - you're doing SO well!
