Ah I'm only a beginner knitter so trust me, if I can do it, anyone can! :D I learnt in school but of course now there are loads of tutorials on YouTube etc. I think it's easier to watch it being done than just reading in a book. You could start with a scarf maybe? I don't know if you'd have time but there are knitting groups that meet in libraries, coffee shops etc and they might be good as the experienced ones help beginners. We have one called Stitch 'n' !!!!! (I see it didn't like that word - rhymes with stitch and refers to a female dog) ... that cracks me up!

Oh and of course don't forget to visit The Knitters Thread in OldStyle. We are all a bit cracked but it's a good laugh!

  • hahaha love the stitch n b1tch group lol what a fantastic name!!!

Im going to check out the knitters thread and see what ideas i get. Also got a sewing machine from mum so might have a look at the sewing thread and see whats what on their too.

Not done much today except take pup for a nice long walk and then chilled. I am now feeling very tired!!! Its true what they say......the less you do the more tired you become. Ah well Work tomorrow 12 - 5 so that should keep me out of trouble.

Just had a look at the hotel ive booked and its got a sauna so will deffo be trying that out!!! Doesnt look very hopeful on the weather front but abit of rain never put me off and I wont melt so im hoping all will be ok. It is still bothering me abit about going away on my own, hopefully at breakfast people wont think awww look at that poor woman all on her own........hummmmm think I will take a good book to read!!!

Anyway off to bed for an early(ish) night.

    Sweet dreams

  • Pickle, hope you managed to get tidied up before your mum got home. x

Well tonight ive been sorting through some drawers in my bedroom and found a pack of nicotine patches SO have decided that as of Wednesday I am going to try to give up the ciggys!!! That will save me £149 a month!!! or £1788 a year OMG thats horrendous!!! Patches will cost me (after this week) about £40 a month so will have an extra £109 to throw at my debts!!! Blimey that would get moorcroft paid off in 12 months time rather than 34 months!!! :T I have given up smoking before and lasted 2 1/2 years then rather foolishly on a very bad day not long after I moved I was that peed off i went to the shop and bought a pack of cigs,,,,,and that was it smoked more than I used too!!! Its soooo not good for my health and I dont really like smoking I think I just do it out of boredom!!! Maybe everyone will get scarves for xmas that would keep my hands busy lol x

  • ooopppsss im slipping, didnt post at all yesterday, mind you I didnt really do anything interesting except made weezls carrot cake which I highly recommend as its lush, but wouldnt recommend it if your on a diet coz you cant just have 1 slice haha its very more ish.

Weather has been atrocious the past couple of days but today its not too bad and I have managed to get my washing out. Just hope it doesnt blow away as its very windy.

Spending wise im doing ok, Only things I have bought is sugar, milk and coffee. Ive made bread in the breadmaker and still got half a loaf left which should last me till I go away on Friday.

Im getting quite giddy about my hols and im all packed and ready to go. Hope the weather is ok for weekend but as its a bank holiday it probably wont be!!! Ive decided no matter what the weather I will eat fish and chips watching the waves and I will go for a paddle in the sea :D I would love to have a donkey ride (reminiscing childhood) but I couldnt be that cruel to a donkey lol.

Right im off to take pup for a walk, hes late for his walk this morning as I managed to stay in bed till 8.30 which is late for me as im usually up at 6 - 6.30 and he is jumping up at the laptop trying to type lol.

Hope everyone has a good day
    Hugs

Have a lovely break termoil and good luck with the ciggies!
  • Not long been in from work so am sitting here with a coffee and my very very last cigarette!! When I wake up in the morning it will be the start of my ciggy free life!! Im armed with patches and chewing gum and can say that I think this time my head is in the right place for me to be able to quit. I am going to pay £4.80 (the price of a packet of cigs) into a savings account so at the end of every month I will pay a lump sum off a debt. I cant wait to see how quickly the debt starts coming down. Im going to be moody and aggitated so please take no notice if I come and rant on here as im sure its not going to be an easy ride. Seriously started to think about knitting as it will give me something to do with my hands. Im prepared for the gain in weight which to be honest isnt a bad thing as I can afford to gain a stone (just as long as I dont gain more than that)

Anyway thats it its gone so its time for bed.

    Night all
