Sorry mate but you did your research too late.
You COULD have choosen to do voluntary work INSTEAD of that new deal course, as voluntary work is 1 of the 4 new deal options, and YOU have the choice of which option you choose as its your life.
Ive got a link to the website which explains the 4 options in detail but i cant be bothered to find it for you soz,
as you clearly need to toughenup ALOT,
and so going to this new deal adult school thing for the next 3months will probably toughen you up abit.
However if you are ready to come into the real world get on google and do your own reseach about the4 new deal options,
and you can then chosoe which of the 4 you want to do.

Are you actually incapacitated by the conditions to the extent that you cannot hold down a job?
The OP has described that his agoraphobia only really applies to being stuck in a room all day, but he is able to do voluntary work on a regular basis. They would not get far with an ESA application.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Seriously dmg how sad and lonely is your life that you actually live on this website 20+ hours per day, 7days per week?! :rotfl:
At 1st it was amusing, but now its actually just getting creepy.
Especially since you recently admitted that you actually research the posting history of every poster you reply to!
You also admitted before that your unemployed and claim benefits (although it was obvious due to the amount of hours per day you spend on here),
but so do you not get in trouble with the jobcentre when you go to sign-on, and have to tell them that instead of spending the week getting of your lazy a55 and applying for jobs you wasted it all mucking around and making a nuisance of yourself on a website forum?
Or do you instead choose to commit fraud by lying to the jobcentre about your jobsearch activities?
Dirty little scrounger. :rotfl::D:p
The only thing that is laughable here is you. You make it so easy for the MSE Team to ban you!Gone ... or have I?0 -

Surely there must be some help I'd recieve, I suffer from migraines & have had agoraphobia in the past & have had both coming back but I'm kind off against using these for excuses.
oh !!!!!!, give me a break, you want assistance because you had migraines in the past? I know we are in a nanny state but that's just a step too far.
Furthermore you are prepared to do 12 hours a week then you can do a full time job.
Try working 50 hours a week in front of a computer monitor and then come back and tell us all about headaches.0 -

than ks for help everyone - know where to come next time.
So you live in a field then? Or does your house only have 3 walls?
Go and get yourself a job labouring if you can't stand being inside a building, or even down at the local supermarket. Get a job as a security guard.0 -
markus2010 wrote: »well I think the endless non-help shows what people think really,
my original question was I want to stop claiming the JSA & do voulanteer work to enhance my CV, my job center have been arkward about the situation, this 13 week course - I'd be going to the job searching for 2 hours going 3 miles for 3 hours volanteer work then back to job search for an hour, they have said it that way or I can go without for 13 weeks & the advice I've recieved has been just awful really.
So no I don't think I'm being arrogant or namecalling, everyone seems to be given silly answers & I was hping for some ideal suggestions to help me.
That's hardly staring at a wall for 7 hours...0 -

I have read most of this thread/post. Some of it isnt very nice and pretty judgmental. The original question was re volunteering and JSA. You can volunteer, of course, and you should be credited for trying to do something to get more skills etc. When I worked at the Jobcentre, you had to provide details of where you were volunteering, as a general rule, it normally would be a charity. I would check the charity was bona fide etc etc and that would be that. There would be a record of your file and your signing date or time could be changed to accommodate it.However, if you can get a letter from the company saying that you arent being paid and the hours you are doing, if it isnt accepted, ask for a decision by the decision makers. They are separate from the advisor and independant. Or just speak to the manager. Hope that helps.
However, I would say that I have bad health, arthritis, thyroid, high blood pressure, very frequent migraines to name but a few. I work and have always worked, I have been lucky. You should ask your doc for better medication for your migraines or find out why they occur, it could be something simple, like a food item that starts them or stress. Mine is my arthritis in my neck. I have medication for them and whilst it still is horrible and you feel less than well, you can work, and get on with your life, so that may be an option.
On the last point, I have to agree with most that if the agrophobia is a problem for the course, it would be a problem for any other work surely? The courses are normally very good and can give you alot of useful skills - Perhaps you find it stressful and that is the reason for your migraines? again, something that can be worked on, if you want to. You are entitled to JSA. You would not qualify for DLA as it is a benefit for people who need care and help. Migraines are horrible but they dont stop, or shouldnt, stop you functioning if you have the right meds
hope this helps

Thanks for the helpful advice again,
I'm amazed by the wrong info being given on here, I sought advice form my local CAB & a lady from Addeco put me in touch a woman she knows who is doing law & she very kindly took 10 minutes to speak in person about my situation.
my adviser said that I do the course or I go without any help & that's breaking the law I've just found out, the process goes in stages & this is my first time being over a year out of work, I would be considered a stage 1 if I'm dismissed to failed.
Also not having a lunch break is illegal which I knew already, also Kennedy scott failed to do my lap plan & explain it,also my meidcal history wasn't completed which is a serious breach on there part.
bottom line - you always have a option to go for.0 -

So the DWP have accepted this, have they?
In my experience, solicitors can ramble on forever about the law but it doesn't always translate into real life.0 -
No - but I'm feeling better knowing I have options,
I'm sure these people won't want bad press & atteniton0
