Thanks for posting again, I've been trying all morning, I was just about to post it and I saw you'd beaten me to it
I've got the first bit of the clue -
Did Henry go starving while clearing bent grass -
takes me to the abandoned settlement of Hungry Bentley
Buy hall and you'll see above cellar your task -
Bentley Hall was recently up for sale. The estate agents brochure is here. According to the floor plan above the cellar was the drawing room? I'm not sure if drawing is the task we're looking for?
I've got a bit more, I'll put it in white now, but I'm still not quite there yet
Match she without T find where hat home did make
Crustacean will show you the one with no steak
take out the t from 'matchshe' and re-arrange and you get Chesham. I googled drawing and Chesham and got to The Drawingroom gallery which is thought to have been the home to Lewis Carrol's 'Mad Hatter' Roger Crab, the 'Mad Hatter' of Chesham. Roger Crab was a vegetarian.
Now where he joined Phil you remember your youth
From wikipedia he joined The Philadelphians in Bethnal Green, home to the V&A Museum of Childhood
The pattern from inmates will lead to the truth
The fish scale mosaic floor was made by female inmates of Woking gaol (source)
... stumped at the last hurdle :rotfl:, I'm not sure what word two is, but I think flog the wrong way must be golf.0 -
Well you got it right last month reniannen but the prize went to
Mrs G Summer in the USA.
You are obviously right again this month so far, brilliant. How do you do it so quickly?0 -
thanks ThingamaBob for posting and Renannien you're amazing!
I am thinking (below in white..)
Florence Maybrick was emprisoned in Woking Gaol (lots of controversy over the *truth of whether she poisoned her husband) don't know why I put this in, but somehow it led me to...
There is a Hoebridge Golf Centre in Woking - but it's called *Centre not *Club, so I'm not sure that *Hoebridge Golf Club would be the answer?0 -

I think these last two have been easier than previous ones but I suppose now I've been doing it for a while I have a better idea of how the clues work and what to search for. I can write out my exact working if you want?thanks ThingamaBob for posting and Renannien you're amazing!

That is sooooooo weird! The other day I was looking at a map (I can't even remember why now!) and I noticed a label saying Hungry Bentley, I'd never heard of it before and I remember mentioning it to my dad saying 'What a funny name for a place!'
Talk about strange coincidence!!
Thanks for posting thingamaBob and huge thanks for all your hard work reniannen and also to mollylou! I don't know how you do it!! :T :T :T
Hope no one minds me bumping this, I was just so surprised that a place I'd never heard of before I've now heard of twice in a week!!! :eek:0 -
Woking Gaol
The full title of the gaol was the 'Woking Invalid Convict Prison', and it was designed to house those suffering from mental or physical disabilities.
I did wonder if word two was invalid, but cant make anything of it.:o
reniannen your amazing0 -
im confused how to do this!! lol!!are they cryptic clues?"Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that!"0
