Morning all,
All this talk of delicious food is making me hungry.
Everyone sounds so cheerful that I don't want to bring the mood down but feeling bad this morning. Drank too much last night and woke up worrying about the test results I'll get this week. What makes a person (me) drink so much when I know it is so bad for me?
I'm determined to make a real effort this month but the worry is getting me down and when I get down I drink, then I get down etc etc!!

Listen up DB, we are all here for you and want to support you through your tests. I understand how you feel about drinking when you know you shouldn't, I've been doing that for quite a number of years.
That's why I thought we should have a new thread today for us to start afresh. It's not going to be easy I know that, at the moment everything is fine and dandy and I am looking forward to feeling better about myself and looking better, but I know that in a few hours everything will darken and autopilot turns on. I will beat this today, you can too.
Let me go and find a post from Springwatch Girl, a poster that has sadly been AWOL for ages, you weren't posting on here way back then. It gives a very positive message that I want you all to read or remember...

Morning DB
It's just a matter of getting the first couple of days under your belt then you will start to feel a lot better.
Why do any of us do the things we do?
I used to get smashed in the flat cos at the end of the day I liked it, it was just the hangovers and the health aspect and the shenanigans that sometimes occurred and trhe bad bits.
Glad I don't drink alone in the flat anymore, 6 weeks today, i never thought i would see the day.
Don't have anymore money I have to tell you, but I do feel better....
Good Luck and keep posting you will be fine,
SSG

Thanks Jo. It is a very positive post indeed. I know exactly what you mean about the autopilot turning on. Lets beat it today as you say. We can't change the past but the future can be different can't it? I'm just hoping that if there is any damage that it can be reversed by staying AF.

ETA: Thanks SSG - you're doing great. That's what I want to do - stop drinking on my own.0
