    Sim....Hope you are doing okxxx

    SSG...Congrats on doing so brilliantly:T

I have had a good weekend, bought a food processor and blender today on the sale and have already put it good use.
Got a pack of veg from Mr T (whoopsie 75p) and made a big pot of veggie soup. Also made a bannana bread with leftover bananas (first time and it rose and worked out ok ) so really pleased. Have been able to freeze both of these.

Really want to try hard this month both on AFD front and money saving.

Take care everyone espcially DB (((((BIG HUGS)))))

    love

  • Folks,
Some really great thoughtful posts from Budgie, Peedie, Sparkles, Graeme, RA. I'll read them again tomorrow when I may be able to take them in properly.

I'm in a bit of a state of shock. I had a phone call from my friend's husband about an hour ago to tell me that her 18 year old daughter died on Friday. An accident at home. I couldn't really hear or understand what actually happened. I can't take it in.

The worst thing is that her other daughter died 6 years ago aged 19 and she is still trying to come to terms with that. I can't bear to think how she must be feeling right now. We've been friends since our school days and she has had such a tough time of it you wouldn't believe. She is such an incredible woman. A passionate worker in the area of domestic abuse. I truly thought that nothing else awful could happen to her but it has.

I've fallen off the wagon at the first hurdle. I guess I'd have to be off booze for a long time to not react in that way to something so awful.

Sorry about this but I just can't keep it in and say nothing.

    DB x

    DB that is so awful,

My thoughts are with yourself and your friend in particular,

    So tragic

Oh that's absolutely dreadful news DB. Any chance you can visit? I can't imagine how awful it must be to lose not one but two children. I have two DDs myself and it's just unthinkable. :grouphug: (inadequate but well meant) xxx

Thanks Maman I think I will try to visit. She's a 3 hour train journey away but it is possible. I'll see how she feels.

    Thanks everyone.

The problem with being sober for the first time in ages is that sleep is very difficult, woke up at 3am and been wide awake since :( gotta get up at 6am!
