Regretting the past and fearing the future is a quick route to unhappiness for me.

I may not be able to reverse ALL the damage I did to myself and others when I drank (be it physical, mental, emotional, financial), however I can ensure I don't do any more damage today by not picking up a drink.

    Well said.

I'm doing my best to do the right thing now. That will do for me.

If things don't work out the way I want them to it won't be for lack of trying.

I do find Friday evening the part of the week as I'm looking for the switch and don't quite know what to do with myself...it really is hard to explain. Almost like I don't have a purpose...weird...

    Right, off to make tea.

    take care all!

    Evening all

((hugs)) Budgie. Must be so lovely to see your DS but awful to see him go again. Am sure you will see him again soon.

I'm going to have to have a go at that Pork recipe I think. Must admit though my tea tonight was lovely - jacket pot, coleslaw, smoked mackerel and salad. Yum yum....

    to 365

Big hugs and go with it. What a sad, sad situation for the family.
Don't keep it in, there's no need, getting it out is cathartic.

Oh DB sweetheart that is so very, very sad. What words can you say at a time like this?

It is just too awful to think about.

To lose a child in any situation is in itself heartbreaking but to then have history repeat itself, then this is surely too cruel.

Goodness knows how anyone could move forward from this, I only hope that they will be able to get through the dark days ahead. What an absolute shock for you to take such a telephone call, big hugs DB, I really don't know what else to say?

No words could make a difference, but please take care and try and be strong for your friends. They will need all the help and support that people can give them now and far into the future.

It really is so very sad........................

  • Thank you DC and Budgie. I'm trying to write a letter but its not easy to find the words. No words will help as you say but I just want her to know how much I love her and care.

Then DB I am sure that you will find the words that you need :A

If we do things with love in our hearts and with good intentions then this will in itself be the right way.

But one suggestion if you don't mind me saying, is to write your letter and then tomorrow re-read it before sending it. I always find that sometimes if we are feeling emotional, it is better to do this.

But take care hunny and your friend is very lucky to have you :A

    God Bless
