I've often looked at Weezl's thread, and now I have to seriously start budgeting. Big change in income from next month so I need to become addicted to it again.

Same here, need to get back on track

DC - how about checking out the grocery challenge thread on OS? Set a budget then aim to stick to it. First month is often keeping track of how much you spend in a month and then the following month look at what you can trim the budget back on while remembering only buy what you need, use up what you have, go through the stockpiled stuff

Plus there are lots of links and advice on there too if you need some help or advice

I've found it a great help when I started with it last year as I wasted a lot of money on food and now have this under control mostly - liked weezls thread so will have a read through that again

I have tried it before, (I'm pretty pants at most challenges, full of enthusiasm then just faff about and lose my way and motivation) but this time there is no room for failure. That thread moves so fast too.

Try not to treat it as a challenge - then you won't fail it! It took me some goes but the thing that hit home was how much I was spending on food and what I bought and did I need it, eg start eating what I have already got in!

The thread moves quick but posters are very good at helping out if you need it

Thanks Jo for the link - will have good browsie around later (still 3 boxes to go through and file everything worth keeping).

Also thanks for reminding about Mr T vouchers. I need to have a think how to use them. I was going to use them towards RAC cover but won't have enough. Perhaps swap them for double rewards and use for clothes for dd and I, especially get some new school stuff for DD.

I wanna join too!! Have pledged my willingness on a number of ocassions but failed the minute I've parked up in Mr T car park.....

Last night I spent £20 on a salmon dinner, tonight I spent £15 on a lamb curry dinner, that's without the boiled eggs, rice and tomatoes I already had.

I'm embarrassed. Will enjoy me tea though ;) no but this isn't really a laughing matter.

Must look at this properly in the morning.

Marru, I was only thinking about the double deal thing earlier when I drove into Mr Ts, Martin would be shaking his head in shame, although its handy and yes there is money to be saved espesh if you are buying something specific but I reckon he would say optmise the benefits by getting 4 times the amount with a reward instead.

Saying that I need to buy uniforms and it would be handy :rotfl:
